My heartfelt condolences to him, & salute to him for his immense courage to LIVE life, despite the tremendous pressures he faced. Some, sadly would rather end life cowardly & presumed that it is solution, & worse are THOSE whom encourage such horrific solution.
Each life is precious & means something special to another. Even if he has no one else left alive in this lifetime, he is STILL ONE OF US - a fellow Human & citizen, & would had CONTRIBUTED to our society in his lifetime by being meaningfully employed, married, have a child, etc. WE, Singaporeans will leave no one behind. Each is one of us...
Having a Stroke does NOT mean the end of life. Most CAN recover. It takes therapy sessions & gradually over time, some within months while others will take years, CAN recover MOST Human abilities, & LIVE life & love again.,.,.
The insignificant nobody me grouse is only against the MEDICAL PROFESSION, for its COSTLY therapies & medications. In the past, doctors whom had callings into the profession did so wholeheartedly. They were not concern about $$$, but the lives that they had been able to save - which is far more precious that no money can buy... They would even accept in kind, to survive - such as fruits, vegs, water, help in building shelters, etc to survive & help others. Thus Doctors were REVERED since ancient times...
Today, it's all about money. It is just ridiculous that a box of panadol that cost only $5 a box became $12 today. Big Pharma claims it was research & logistics cost that increased prices. but what happened to ECONOMIES OF SCALE dictates that would guarantee returns at same price & services?
It will take time to resolve such issues at the International level, but for fellow citizens like Mr Lee Guo Rong, all the best to each for a speedy recovery & to never give up hope. Their courage to live will inspire others to not give up too. They will NOT be abandoned, as proven by individuals such as the condo landlord, the logistic firm that hired him, the charity orgs that represented equally empathetic fellow Singaporeans whom donated to such causes.
