Billionaire and Twitter CEO Elon Musk shared conservative news outlet "The Daily Wire's" video tweet of its documentary "What Is A Woman" after fierce backlash erupted over the video's suppression on Twitter.

The documentary's creator, author Matt Walsh, claimed on June 1 that his video had "been flagged as hate speech" and that it had "blacklisted from the trends list."

"What Is A Woman" features Walsh exploring "the changing concepts of xes and gender in the digital age, particularly the transgender rights movement, anti-transgender bigotry, and what it means to be a woman," according to a movie summary.

Critics label Walsh's documentary as "transphobic," and were openly celebrating the suppression of his documentary on Twitter, with some showing examples of the social media platform alerting users that Walsh's video had its "visibility limited" as it "may violate Twitter's rules against Hateful Conduct."

In response to Walsh's tweet that his documentary was being suppressed, Musk replied that the issue "will be fixed tomorrow." As promised, on Friday, Walsh's video was unsuppressed.

Going beyond that, Musk even quote-tweeted Walsh's documentary in an apparent effort to put it before the eyes of his 141 million followers.

It was Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing who first sounded the alarm over Twitter's censorship of Walsh's movie on Thursday morning, the first day of June and therefore the first day of LGBT-celebrating Pride Month. Boreing claimed Twitter had reviewed the video and found instances of "misgendering," which allegedly led to the social media platform limiting its reach.

In response to Boreing's Twitter thread detailing his issues with the platform's alleged suppression of the video, Musk replied that the video being limited "was a mistake by many people at Twitter."

Criticism persisted until the issue was apparently resolved. Walsh himself thanked Musk early Friday morning for featuring the documentary on his own Twitter feed.
