Coroner's inquiry on retiree found dead in flat: Wounds were self-inflicted

HE WAS found dead with 23 wounds all over his body.
They included 14 on his head, six on his abdomen and one on each wrist.
But a coroner’s inquiry on Thursday into the death of Mr Wong Kim San (above), 87, revealed that the wounds were self-inflicted.
Investigation officer Inspector Razali Razak told the court that no foul play was detected.
State Coroner Imran Abdul Hamid agreed with Insp Razali’s findings and found that Mr Wong had intended to end his own life.
The retiree, who was from Hainan, China, was found dead on Dec 4, 2010 in a two-room flat at Block 19, Jalan Sultan, near Beach Road.
