Cleaner jailed 4 weeks for assaulting nurse who told him to stop smoking in toilet

SINGAPORE - A cleaner who assaulted an assistant nurse after he told him to stop smoking in a hospital ward toilet was jailed for four weeks on Wednesday.
Muhammad Sholehin Jumari, 22, kicked 21-year-old Kaathisgesan Nadarajan in the thigh when he went to investigate after smelling smoke coming from the cubicle in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital on March 16 last year.
He also shoved him in the chest and punched him in the back of the head, leaving him needing hospital attention.
Two months later, Sholehin went to the Institute of Mental Health and requested to be admitted into the psychiatric ward.
