The three black bear cubs had managed to open the rubbish skip's latch in Ruidoso,
New Mexico but once inside where unable to climb out of the bin.
Shirley Schenk and her husband Tom came to the rescue after hearing the bears' cries.
As Mr Schenk slowly backed his pickup truck up to the bin, his wife then gingerly lowered the
ladder in so the cubs could clamber out to be reunited with their mother.
