Police arrest 3 for illegal online soccer betting
05:55 AM Jun 25, 2010Police have arrested three persons for illegal online betting on World Cup soccer matches.

On June 17, CID officers arrested a 43-year-old man at a flat in Bedok who is believed to have placed bets amounting to $8,950.

On June 22, a 46-year-old man who was suspected of placing bets amounting to $13,370, was arrested at a flat in Ang Mo Kio.

The third case on June 23 involved a 47-year-old woman at a flat in Yishun. She placed bets amounting to about $25,000. Police seized cash amounting to RM4,000 ($1,719), desktop computers, mobile phones and other related equipment.

Investigations are ongoing.
