In the Moskovsky district of St. Petersburg, a man demonstrated by his own example that not only cats climb into the most unexpected places. To get the young man, I had to open the asphalt and dig out the pipe.

A reader told Fontanka about an unusual incident at Pulkovo on November 9. Around 3:00 p.m., he found a cluster of emergency services and an excavator in the airport parking lot. On the spot, they clarified that they had been trying to get a person stuck in a pipe out of the ground for more than an hour, presumably around noon.

The clothes thrown next to the hatch suggested that he had descended into the chimney naked.

“I opened the sewer hatch, undressed, went downstairs and climbed into a pipe with a diameter of 250–300 mm,” the reader says. – “At 15.00 they dug six meters of pipe, there were four more meters to the body.”

He did not wait for the end of the rescue operation. Judging by the video that was sent to the editorial office, it ended successfully – the man was taken out alive. According to an eyewitness, he managed to crawl 12 meters in a pipe.

Fontanka asked for a comment from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the region.
