SINGAPORE - Drugs worth a total of over $88,600 were seized in an 11-day operation that ended today (June 3), the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) said in a statement.

111 suspects were also arrested in the island-wide operation supported by the Singapore Police Force.

Among the suspects is a 26-year-old Singaporean believed to be the leader of a drug syndicate. He was arrested in Yishun at a suspected drug store, where about 1.8kg of cannabis and a small amount of Ice, worth an estimated street value of over $62,000 in total, were recovered.

CNB officers had tailed a suspected drug runner, also a 26-year-old Singaporean man, to the store. There, three other Singaporean men were arrested: a 20-year-old suspected drug associate and two suspected clients aged 25 and 29, on whom a total of 110g of cannabis was found.

In another case, a 29-year-old Singaporean man had caught the attention of the authorities after allegedly buying drug paraphernalia online. A search of his apartment in the Orchard Road area later revealed over 100g of cannabis, about 20g of "Ice", Ecstasy tablets, Erimin-5 tablets, and a small amount of ketamine.

Investigations into the drug activities of all suspects are ongoing. Those convicted of trafficking in more than 500g of cannabis may face the death penalty.
