2 men arrested for robbing elderly man

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested two men suspected of robbing a 79-year-old man in a lift on May 19.
The suspects, aged 38 and 57, are believed to have taken the elderly man's mobile phone while he was on his way home at Clementi Avenue 5.
Police managed to trace both suspects after identifying them from CCTV footage captured at the time of the robbery.
The men were arrested separately last night.
The suspects will be charged in the court on June 26.
If convicted, they each face a jail term starting from 5 to 20 years and a minimum of 12 strokes of the cane.
