16 year-old girl’s identity stolen online

The identity of a 16 year-old girl was stolen, with the imposter posting messages online offering sex in exchange for a place to stay.
The first of these posts surfaced on the afternoon of 3 July at a popular local online forum. In the first message, which also featured a picture of a young girl with dyed hair, the girl is said to have left home after arguing with her parents and is ready to offer sexual services in order to secure temporary accommodation.
The girl is said to be willing to take part in role-playing sex games with men to offset the rent. The post quickly caught fire in online and was spread around. Based on the Facebook page of the girl, she is believed to be a secondary school student.
Late at night on 3 July, someone refuted these claims in another forum saying that the post was false. This created another round of buzz online. When the girl in question caught wind of the incident, she used her Facebook account to make a statement to clear her name.
The forum on which the original message was posted has since removed the post and wrote a statement saying that the post is false.
The reporter visited the girl’s Facebook page and found that she is a 16 year-old from Thailand. She is currently in Bangkok, but used to go to school in Singapore. The girl is said to be a blogger who created a stir on STOMP after posting a picture of two palms with a controversial message written on them.
According to the girl’s message on Facebook, she does not want to pursue this matter, saying it will be a waste of effort and money. She said that she has already explained herself and cannot stop anyone from choosing to believe the fake forum post.
