Indonesia has been a good friend and neighbour to Singapore and is respected as an influential nation in ASEAN.

The Indonesian have been mocking us and looking down upon us. Instead of speaking up like a truly ‘First World Opposition’, the Hammerrhoids are behaving like a bunch of spineless eunuchs, bringing shame and disgrace to all Singaporeans.

Unlike those truly wayang self-styled “First World” Hammerrhoids who only know how to kowtow and bow to neighbouring bully, the truly Asian First World Opposition lectures the government how to deal with bad neighbours:

The ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution was signed in 2002 and all ASEAN member countries have ratified the Agreement, except for Indonesia. The government of Malaysia, in particular the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, must pressure Indonesia to sign the ASEAN Agreement on Transboundary Haze Pollution and show its commitment to reduce the number of forest fires and burning by diligent implementation of the Plan of Action.

Following serious episodes of transboundary haze, the ASEAN Ministers of Environment have endorsed the Regional Haze Action Plan. The Sub-Regional Ministerial Steering Committee (MSC) on transboundary haze pollution was established in 2006, tasked to tackle forest fires. Millions of ringgit have been spent on monitoring, managing and mitigation efforts to tackle the transboundary haze. So far, there have only been three meetings of this Sub-Regional MSC, the last was held in April 2013.

Palanivel must make public the content and action plan of the MSC so that the public can hold the Ministry accountable for the implementation and ensure that it is not just paying lip service to the urgent needs and rights of all Malaysians to enjoy clean and fresh quality of air.

Malaysia must take a strong stand in the issue of transboundary haze, else we risk endangering our citizens' lives for the sake of being a "good neighbour".

Thanks to the relentless standing up and speaking up by the truly Asian First World Opposition, the Indonesian government has listened up and begin to apologise.

The Indonesians have heard too many flatteries from the likes of the Hammerrhoids toadies, so the harsh words and great wisdom of the Malaysian First World sounds like breath of fresh air as compared to those Hammerrhoids’ subservient bootlicking and shameless ball-sucking.

Thats the difference between successful politicians like the WP and we armchair warriors. They are positioning themselves to be the next government. They are not going to make enemies with neighbouring countries. Let the PAP take the heat.

Agreed. And while some Indonesians behaved very badly with their name calling, etc, as a country they mustered the resources they had and took action. Their president also took it upon himself to solve the problem, which is more than the 'there's nothing we can do' mantra of our foreign minister.
