So sad to see a potential president of mine grovelling for votes at an obviously ill-planned lunch time rally today where he...
- gave a mini-lecture on the coming financial perfect storm to neck-tied financial whiz kids in Shenton Way, explaining in some detail about negative equity;
- commented that there will be a female president in the future, fishing for female votes;
- spoke in what sounded like Mandarin in a 95% English educated audience; and threw in Malay and Tamil as well.
Not very different when he promised to look into the mundane matter of allowing taxi-drivers to drive beyond 72 years old; telling the Malays how valuable they are to Singapore (as valuable as his son, that we do not really allow them to hurt themselves in NS).
Sharon Au spoke self-promoted for 4 minutes before praising the man who would be president. Is TT her father figure, having disowned her own father as she proudly proclaimed in a newspaper interview before she left 6 years ago?
The Por Lam Par Hoe Bee Chairman Chua, speaking in Mandarin hoped that Singaporeans would make a good decision to vote in a good government before correcting himself.
Another Por Lam Par said the nice things he wanted to say had been mentioned by the previous speakers and that he would not repeat them. And then he went on and on about the great stuff that TT had done. It was actually quite comical - can beat Jay Leno.
