The ghosts of a couple who died at the Bukit Timah railway two years ago have been spotted!

Many Singaporeans have been flocking to the defunct railway to take photos as mementos, and two people have on separate occasions encountered a ghostly couple. Both times, the ghostly couple was seen at night and at the same spot where they died after being hit by a train two years ago.

This ghostly photo was submitted by photography enthusiast Liao Ting Yao (age 27).

According to Liao, he had visited the train tracks to take photos on the last day that the train station was open to the public, on 17 July. He had lingered till the wee hours in the morning of 18 July, and took a photo of the train tracks.

What showed up in his photo astonished him. In it was a couple sitting on the tracks, when he clearly did not see anyone when he took the photo.

On a separate occasion, Lianhe Wanbao reporter Zheng Jia Xin had visited the train tracks at night and saw a couple sitting on the tracks. When she took a photo, the couple was no where to be seen in the picture.

SINGAPORE: Two Republic Polytechnic students who were killed by an oncoming Keretapi Tanah Melayu train last year were either too tired or too intoxicated with alcohol to react when its driver sounded the horn, the Coroner's Court heard.

As a result, the Malaysia-bound train ploughed into the pair as they were sitting on a railway track near Bukit Timah Shopping Centre.

They died on the spot.

State Coroner, Eddy Tham has recorded a verdict of misadventure on the deaths of the two students, 20-year-old Clara Lee Jing Yu and 19-year-old Goh Sheng Yao.

Both of them were third-year Integrated Events Management students and according to court papers, were in a relationship.

The court heard that a witness spotted the pair near Blooie's Roadhouse, a restaurant located at the nearby Rail Mall at Upper Bukit Timah Road at around 2am on 8 August 2009.

A video clip retrieved from Sheng Yao's mobile phone revealed that he was drinking from a plastic cup and he appeared drunk.

Police retrieved two such cups near the restaurant and toxicology reports on the pair revealed that both of them had consumed alcohol before their tragic deaths.

The Investigation Officer handling the case, Inspector Ng Soon Chye told the court that a railway track bridge is accessible from the mall and it is only about a two-minute walk away. - CNA/vm

Contradicting leh. The first photographer didn't see the couple but the couple appear in the picture. But the wanbao report saw the saw but the couple didn't appear in the picture.

I heard the girl had relationship problems and ask her guy friend out to help keep her company. The rest is reported by poodles who did on site investigation. They had cans of beer on the spot, gotten so drunk and fell asleep......then came the train. :( RIP.

The family did some rituals on that spot after the incident and that was it......until now....but not sure about the pics though.
