Dear Resident,

As you are reading this letter, we are moving through an exciting political epoch in Singapore. The Internet is abuzz with Singaporeans who are keen to read about policies that impact their lives.

The man in the street is less afraid of alternative political opinions, compared to yesteryear.

We are also at a crossroads as a nation. Channel NewsAsia recently reported the findings of a study from the Institute of Policy Studies involving more than 2,000 young Singaporeans, which implied that 1 in 2 have little or no sense of rootedness to Singapore.

The figures bear out the consequence of many policies that have affected Singaporeans over the past decade. Middle and lower class Singaporeans are being strained by rising costs.

Our infrastructure, such as public transport and public housing, is buckling under the weight of an over-liberal immigration policy.

The political climate has created a generation of Singaporeans who do not speak up, because they do not feel that they have a stake in this country.

The National Solidarity Party, as our name suggests, has a long-term vision of ensuring that no Singaporean gets left behind in the pursuit of economic success.

Once we are elected by you into Parliament, we intend to address your concerns in the immediate future by offering a leadership that is more accessible, with more channels for engaging with the residents.

To begin with, we will offer more Meet-the-People sessions per week, to ensure that you will have more opportunities to have your issues heard and addressed.

Next, we are keen to voice your concerns on national issues. All Singaporeans have a stake in this country, but we do not realise this when our voices are being silenced.

Voting for us gives you an avenue to debate and articulate your concerns regarding the direction our country is heading towards, bringing your voice into the Parliament.

Vote for us, we will work even harder than the incumbent. As the smaller fish in the sea, we cannot afford to rest on our laurels or promise you any less than our absolute best.

We thank you for taking the time to read this letter. As you prepare to cast your vote in this GE 2011, we hope you bear these issues in mind and give us your support.

Yours Sincerely,
MP GRC TEAM GE 2011
