it is true it is not easy to employ people. I can testify to that. My recent advertisement on a job opening attracted only 1 Singaporean applicant. The rest are all foreigners.
I know everyone here love to trash PAP. I am not a PAP supporter. But I think we should look at the situation in a more balance view. No one seems to be grateful over anything that have been given so far. Everyone is focus only at the negative aspects. For instance, someone commented somewhere in the web here that property in Australia is FH and it is very affordable. We cannot argue against that. But in different country and the situation is different.
The field is always greener over the other side of the fence.
If we continue to complain in this manner, our minds will be filled with negativity. No potential employers will like to employ a "complain king". Think 'bout that. If you are an employer, who will you employ? Someone who think that just because he served the NS therefore the country owes him this and that? Or someone who is accomodating and eager to contribute.
Today all companies are pressure to achieve higher profit. As a result, they will employ based on qualification and capabilities. Age is not a problem as long as the person is able to justify his or her value.
