Geylang bookies nabbed

Police raided a coffee shop in Geylang which allegedly operated as an illegal betting centre.

A crowd was watching the World Cup quarter final game between Germany and Argentina when officers surrounded D E Eating House in Geylang Lorong 25A.

Cash amounting to $1,500 and betting slips were seized.

look like those WC time bookie wannabe that got caught. Also ppl here are being condition not to run from law. If that HK, the offenders would have bolted in all directions. Run oso no use coz everything is recorded on surveillance before they proceed to take action..... they oso wisen up now unlike last time when take action sometimes kenna hamtam and dunno by whom. :p ....... so now they capture everyone's face then move in and with the camera still on recording mode.

what do u mean run is useless? u think the poodles will launch a manhunt for bookies and punters? pls, the poodles got better thing to do. There were examples of criminal on wanted list living with families for donkey years before they were caught. If you had ever do guard duty during your NSF days, you will see the awol list in the guard room. Seldom were those ppl caught, those that were caught were mostly because kenna detain by matas for other offences or damn sway kenna roadblock. while singapore not big, the chances of kenna caught also very low.
