Just wondering if they really know how it feels like waiting 30 minutes for a bus and standing the next 1 hour in a crowded bus ...

I think it's quite safe to guess that the answer to your question is none.
But that's not really the point.
They wouldn't be expected to take public transport daily anyway.

But being elected officials, you would expect those who are involved in transport to occasionally take public transport UNOFFICIALLY, without transport company officers following them. Or at least do REAL detailed studies and surveys of ordinary people who do take public transport and make their policy decisions accordingly.

Once I was watching a Taiwan talk show program where they were interviewing the mayor of Taipei Hao Lung Bin and a caller complained about the mrt in Taipei. Mayor Hao replied that he had not taken the mrt during peak hours for some time, but he would do so in the very near future to understand the caller's concerns.
This once again proves the importance of a strong opposition.

Even if they take public transport it would be for show. The trains would be extremely punctual, a carriage would be specially reserved for them and their lackeys and dogs so that they would not see the crowd and suffer the ignominy of smelly body odours and armpits. And the media would be there to record the whole wayang for immediate telecast the same day. Same if they take a bus. If they are Ministars they would then be escorted back to their chauffeured state own luxury cars paid with tax payers money and driven back to their ivory tower.

That's why they will always be out of touch with the real world and the citizens who are paying them millions.

You talking about people who travel by business class in the least, have never flown budget air, and have never bought a Transit link card in their lives - come on, if you're paid their kind of obscene wages every month, would you bother squeezing with the rest of the plebian world?

All MP don't take MRT/bus to work. They all take private car and only start engine after 10am when the traffic start to clear. Just do the survey those live near MPs what time they out of their house. So traffic jam and public transport pack like sardine they don't even know how serious.
If all MPs just have a chance of taking public transport from Pasir Ris to Boon Lay during weekday 8 am for a week. Then they have the right to comment if not better keep their mouth shut off. Just ask them use their mouth to blow job/like ass.

Public transport... as in transport that is paid by the public (tax payers money)??? If that is what TS refering to, then its a big fat YES...

If its the public transport that the rest of us take... then its a confirm big fat NO.
I doubt they even own an Ezlink card lor....

As for the once in a blue moon (pre-election time wayang) public transport ride... That happens only maybe once every 5 years.
Somemore it will be a ride that is done with advance and ample preparation lor.

As some of the people here state... Ask them to take the transport without anyone doing the preparation work... Then start talking....

All 84 MPs don't take bus / MRT to work.

They are not allowed to..... "something to do with maintaining the image of the office"....... when Irene Ng was newly elected mp she was taking bus/mrt to work..... after a few weeks when the higher ups came to know about this..... she was told to get her own transport....... as she dun drive they arranged for a taxi to be at her service until she was able to get her licence and own set of wheels.

Another incident I recall....... when ex-President Wee Kim Wee left office and became an ordinary citizen again he no longer had the official car to use...... one morning he wanted to have prata for breakfast so he took a bus from his home in Siglap to Dawood restaurant in Frankel road which was only 2 stops away...... some kaypoh poodleguard reported the matter to the then PM Wooden GCT.

WKW was told to get a car as it is an embarassment for the State that its ex-President had to travel by public transport... WKW placed an order for a Honda Accord which was what he could afford on his pension...... Wooden jumped when he heard about it and told WKW to at least get a mercedes to reflect the prestige of his ex-office....... but WKW really money no enough to buy a mercedes.

In the end the gahmen ended up paying for the mercedes.

The elites are not allowed to travel by public transport. :oIo:
