My friend hor, called me to say that last night Wanbao reported that 30,000 Singaporeans or PRs bought the $2,000 casino levy. Then hor, he asked me whether if he buys this levy, he can enter MBS as well or for MBS, he has to buy another $2000 casino levy. Anyone knows?

BTW, LKY said that RWS earned 3.5m on day one and 3.75m on day two. Anyway, from I know about casino house edge, it can range from 1% to 20%. So assuming 10% average house edge, that means 35m was punted on day one and 37.5m was punted on day two. If this continues (and it is not likely), we are looking at ard 100m being punted monthly and 1.2b yearly.

Anyone can dispute these very rough numbers that I am looking at?

No need to be sarcastic. The point my fren was making is that the levy is paid to the Singapore govt and not to RWS. So is the levy casino specific? I went to the CRA website and tried to run through the regulations. Could not find anything.

If you know for sure that the levy is casino specific, can send me the URL so that I can know for sure? thanks!

You see, if MBS opens, and I bought a $100 daily levy. I played for a while, felt my luck no good, maybe I will take a cab to Sentosa!

Is the levy casino specific or not? If it is, where can I find the info?

The levy is caino specific. It cannot be used for entry into the other casino. This was stated in an opinion piece last week in TODAY. It is also stated clearly in the RWS website under the FAQ concerning the levy.

What I would like to know is whether the figure of 30k people taking up the $2k annual levy is accurate? If so, then that is very significant.

Thanks. I cut and paste point no.6 here. So we are taking RWS's world for it.

Can I go to two casinos with one levy ticket?
Both types of entry levy - daily or yearly - admits you to only one casino. Buying an entry levy ticket now allows you access into Singapore’s first casino at Resorts World Sentosa.

Since the levy is casino specific and if really 30,000 people have bought the levy, this means MBS is losing out leow on the local market.

30K member that means $60m for gov tax on levy alone not included gambling tax.
PAP must have make a right decision.

Good, I trust the govt will use these money to help the poor. Just like they use the 2% increase in GST to help the poor.

The poor are really a priviledge lot in Singapore, so many ways are devised to help them.
