IR offered me job, but no news from them for 5 months

STOMPer yuppyjoe is disappointed that he hasn't been called up for training since he signed an employment agreement with Marina Bay Sands in July. The STOMPer was apparently advised to quit his previous job because the training was supposed to commence in October.

In the STOMPer's email:

"I had signed an employment agreement with Marina Bay Sands in July and was advised back then to quit our then jobs as the Training will commence in October.

"It has been 5 months now and I have not heard from them and no updates and communication at all.

"Other then some news letter stating the progress of the construction of the IR, there is nothing else from them.

"Each time I call them, the operator at the other end of the line seems to be pre-programmed to say the same thing or just reading out from a script. Their reply will always be 'don't know.'

"I heard from friends with Resort World Sentosa that the first batch has already returned from their overseas training."

Sands will not ready before next CNY. Another two month to go. Ask anyone work in that area or you can see for yourself and judge. Roof not even completed hundered of crane still in that area.
Many work have been delay due to recent raining condition and also payment problem. Sands will need at least another 4~6 month for the opening.
Now I like to see what ministers will comment of the delay. Sure talk about raining problem. So easy I also can be ministers anytime.

I don't see a need to rush. Opening at the same time as Resorts World is bad for both parties. Stock markets are topping as well with Nasdaq leading the way down. Gurus and fengshui masters are forecasting a bleak 2010. The last Tiger year in 1998 saw the Asian financial crisis. Why not delay till 2011 or 2012 instead of paying salaries for staff to swat flies. It's better the media comes clean with the problems so the nation can seek a solution.

'yuppyjoe' is a spare tyre, he was stupid enough to have quitted his job before securing a new one. Now if IR can find some cheaper and 'better' FT then he won't be called upon, but if they are short-handed then he will be the first one to be notified. Any agreement that he has signed is useless when big boys are concerned and may be voided to their advantage; take out your agreement and read the small prints and you will be enlightened.

If this Famished Talents is a 'spare tyre', SINgaporeanS must then be, the broken parts in the recycle bins, either to be thrown away or RECYLED!

Sand and RS did not want to recruit locals and our PAP simply allow them to bring in foreigners. No wonder our merlion got struck in the head because heaven is angry with the way locals were being treated.

I will let all the FTs be the GUINEA PIGS for the roller coaster and rides. I will only try them after 2 years.
