Before choosing which Canadian City I wanted to move to, I did some research.
While Vancouver is always touted by people, on paper it is like another high cost of living city.
When I finally visited Vancouver in 2007, I disliked it a lot. Too many asians. Rude impatient behaviour.
Essentially, almost like another Singapore. What's the point moving from one Singapore to another "Singapore"?

And how come these teachers from overseas will get medical and DENTAL benefits ar? Singaporean teachers don't have leh. Just so glad that we no longer have to fear being sidelined as Singaporeans in Singapore anymore.

You are dead right. When we went into the Chinese resturant in Vancounver, alamat I see are those snob Chinese.....even in Calgary is almost the same.
In Edmonton, generally the Chinese here at least smile at each other. And Asians are still not that many. I rather have more whites....racist....yea ...to that extend. In any cities in the world, if there are many Asians it tend to be very competitive and many snobs.
Are the whites more relax? Well come to Edmonton to experience the difference. We will be visiting Toronto for the first time this Aug and my wife and I wil find out whether it is the same as in London, England where we lived for 4 years. If yes, then it is too crowded and has too many Asians, period....no good for our inner peace.

The temperature in Toronto for the past 2 days has been about minus 19 C, but feels like minus 29 C, due to the arctic air. I do not mind if it is around minus 10C, but on Sunday morning, my fingers were numbed from shovelling snow, and I needed to go into the house to warm, before I completed shovelling snow on the walkway and the sidewalk.
It is strange. I expected Edmonton to be colder than places like Toronto. But so far the lowest temperature I have experienced is only -26 C. I guess with windchill it is -30 +C. Not too bad.
But most of the time the temperature is above -20 C.
Past 2 days has been above 0 C! In fact all the snow from last week has been melting over the weekend. Today has been +3 to +12 C!

There has been other winters, where Toronto was colder than Calgary and Edmonton.
If it is 3C, it will be balmy.

Toronto is the place to go. Not the old Toronto city but what was part of Metro Toronto and which is now part of the megacity.
