Once was dreaming of being Stealth, the expensive and useless F-22 Completely lost their key advantage and now suffers all their design limitations which compromized for so called Stealth Requirements. They are slower; shorter range; lower altitude; & reduced combat payload compared against e.g. non-stealth F-15 or PLA or Russian warplane. The matter is that sending warplane to intercept them is a civilized protocol, but in wars long range missiles can be fired at them from ships or ground hundreds of kms away.

  据权威的英国《简氏防务周刊》近日报道,最近中国官方媒体画面显示解放军东部战区31集团军防空旅已经装备了型号为红旗-16B的防空导弹,视频画面非常清晰地显示了发射车和整个发射过程,据专家判断其射程从原红旗-16A的40公里提高到了70公里。在这段视频中出现了已经配发我军多个陆军防空旅的米波搜索雷达、红旗-16系统的相控阵搜索雷达、以及俄制“道尔M1”导弹发射车上的搜索雷达联合对空搜索的画面,这说明以上出现的这些雷达已经具备了信息融合与信息共享能力。

  军事专家巡航者介绍,随着红旗-16B射程比红旗-16A大幅度的增加,在有效提高陆军野战防空作战能力,同时也会带来与空军协同作战的问题。而这也正是目前解放军战区体制正在着力解决的问题。今年以来若干军事报道中提到,随着新型跨兵种信息系统的投入使用,战区陆军和空军部队之间已经不必互派联络员协调作战,这意味着我军跨军兵种防空信息网络正在成熟。

  2016年2月,中国军队官方媒体曾经刊登文章,声称2月10号上午10点左右,东海舰队在东海防空识别区附近发现不明目标,并且立即出动海军航空兵战机飞赴目标空域,对其实施查证。当时,正值朝鲜半岛局势骤然紧张之时,美国空军派遣4架F-22战机部署至韩国,因此外界纷纷猜测中国军方在东海防空识别区发现的正是F-22战机,据说美国在得知此消息后又紧急将F-22调出日本。

  从目前公开的信息来看,频率较高的雷达如S波段以上的雷达是对付隐形飞机的有效“利器”,因此发展分米波和米波雷达就成为各国反隐形雷达的一个首要选择。不过这些波段的雷达也存在不少的缺点,例如精度较差、系统体积庞大、低空探测能力较低、频率拥挤等,限制了探测能力的发挥。

  中国科研人员研发的米波雷达先后采用了有源相控阵、数字波束成形、数字T/R、空时自适应处理等先进技术,让米波雷达的探测能力有了较大的提高,对抗隐形目标的能力大为增强。美国专家不相信,中国在这么短的时间内可以搞出反隐身雷达,这次珠海航展正好可以让他们好好“看一看”。(作者署名:小飞猪观察)

they are invisible to WEAPONS radar though not DETECTION radar. they could be killed with heat seekers - many heat seekers or a combo of heat seekers, active/passive radar guided, anti radiation etc (once it is known where they are, or if they are already in visual contact).

this is highly likely since there are so few of these stealth f22 things, and they are so expensive that one is worth 20 missiles.

the f35 is a sitting duck - it has excellent sensors but only frontal stealth. it is slow and lumbering too.

machine gun will do,imagine a vulcan or a mini gun or a ciws gun,these drones arent fast or extremely manueveurable anyway max 200 miles per hour theres a limit to drone aerodynamics and how fast u can go,at 6000 rounds per minute,these drones will be shredded like flies.

or use old wwii weapons like flak cannons,flak is extremely spread out large area air burst weapon like a grenade,low damage but against small tiny targets like drones they would be shredded to pieces....also good for clearing out large groups of targets.

Not that way. The USA idea was to make them as least reflective as possible to the cm & mm wavelength radar frequently used in air defense during that era. Now Chinese & Russian use 3 types of radars to detect them. Meter wave length plus 2 other types known as Passive Radars which does not transmit any radio wave outwards - one type uses background NOISES of environment, the other type uses the signals emissions from the US so call stealth planes to work. Background noise are signals from civilian cell phones, radios, TVs, wifi, bluetooth, gps, satellites, etc, when aircraft pass through the environment they blocks or disturbs these signals, comparison of background noises changes shows an aircraft is passing through. Then there is a lot of system inside the stealth fighters, radio linking to other planes and ships and ground and missiles and satellites etc, constantly connected in data network for advanced combat environment. These signals are tracked to reveal themselves in the other type of passive radar.

Whatever so call stealth aims only to take cover from detection at range from 15~600km only, when as near as only several km, there is sufficient reflection to any radar signals to be detected, difference is only seeming to be a smaller target than non-stealth planes. Missiles are fired from a long distance towards the approx areas where targets were detected, but the missiles' own radar (if equipped, some use non-radar) are not tracking targets all along the whole way. The AWAC or ground or sea radars are tracking, and they have to update the missiles along the way of the target movements. Only until the missiles and targets are very close, at final stage 1~2km distance, missiles switch to own ways of homing because being so near, they can do better than the radars far away, there is insufficient time & update to catch up with the final high speed homing from long distance. There are optical, radar, thermal or combination ways depending on missiles to complete their final homing hit.

In this short distance no stealth is possible, the only chance to avoid being hit is fire some countermeasures & abrupt sharp turning high-G maneuvers. Because of their high speeds, missiles are not good at turning sharp corners, if planes at lower speed turned abruptly & sharply the closely following missile's limitation may not be able to follow closer to the plane, and will end up over-shot and become flying further and further to target instead of nearer. Need lots of luck besides skill to escape this way.

1) vera and kolchuga will be used in conjunction with traditional long wavelength surveilance radars.
2) in the case of russia, a flanker will be designated as awacs.
3) knowing the f22's sophisticated ecm suite and kinematic performance, many missiles will be fired to prevent the plane from escaping by countermeasures or evasion.
