MINDEAF very careful not to mention that the vehicles were all intact and had no issues. Keep insisting they have completed checks, but never mentioned whether the checks were found to have missing equipment or equipment that was tampered with. If everything was in perfect working order, they would be crowing about it.

[h=1]Checks and maintenance of Terrex vehicles completed: SAF[/h]
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has completed serviceability checks and maintenance of the nine Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles (ICVs) which arrived back from Hong Kong last Monday.
"The ICVs and equipment will be deployed for training shortly," said the SAF in a Facebook post on Monday (Feb 6).
The Terrex vehicles and other equipment were detained in Hong Kong for two months due to what the city's Customs authority said was a suspected licensing breach. The shipment was transiting through Hong Kong on its way home to Singapore from Taiwan.
The equipment was eventually released on Jan 26 to APL, the commercial shipping firm that was supposed to transport the vehicles back to Singapore in November.

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen earlier said that, in the wake of the incident, the SAF has reviewed shipping procedures "comprehensively" to reduce the risk of equipment being "taken hostage en route" in future.

[h=1]Terrex vehicles checked, to be deployed for training: SAF[/h]

SINGAPORE — The nine Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles (ICVs) that were detained by Hong Kong customs have been checked and will be deployed for training, said the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in a Facebook post late on Monday (Feb 6).

“The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has completed the serviceability checks and maintenance of our Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles (ICVs) and other equipment that were shipped back on 30 Jan 17. The ICVs and equipment will be deployed for training shortly,” the SAF added.

February 7

However, the post gave no details as to whether these nine Terrexes would continue to be used for overseas training.
The armoured vehicles were seized in Hong Kong on Nov 23 while en route to Singapore from Taiwan, where they took part in routine training.

The SAF gave no details either on the results of their checks. TODAY has reached out to the Ministry of Defence with queries.

The decision to deploy the nine previously seized Terrexes came a week after they arrived back in Singapore.

The ICVs and other equipment arrived in Singapore last Monday (Jan 30) at 2.40pm, after being detained by Hong Kong Customs for about two months.
Hong Kong’s Commissioner of Customs and Excise Roy Tang said the vehicles had been seized because “there was a suspected breach of the Hong Kong law”, adding that its investigation might lead to criminal prosecution.

The Hong Kong Customs has not responded to TODAY’s queries on when or whether it will pursue criminal prosecution, or against which party.

In the wake of the incident, Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said that the SAF has reviewed shipping procedures “comprehensively” to reduce the risk of equipment being “taken hostage en route” in future.

first thing that SAF should do is wipe all the software the on the BMS for the 9 Terrex. i wouldn't even turn them on. Just take out the whole console and bring it into the workshop and wipe it clean. Once they turn it on and it connects with the network, any virus the chinese plant in there would also be downloaded.

Typical of SAF & the PAP; wiser after the fact! They forgot to put on their thinking caps despite having so many highly-paid scholar-generals. Really jiakliaobee. Spin doctors working 24/7 to create a positive story. Alls well that ends well? As Papsmearer hv pointed out, the PLA would hv at least poked around & inspected the Terrexes. PAP too scared to reveal the truth for fear of losing more face. If not, why dont release a positive statement to say that the equipment have not been tampered with or compromised.

Nobody was surprised that, the $8 cow did not tell the "hen" not to talk cock & demand that the "hen" commit harakiri for not coming clean.. did they sack those who were in charge....most likely that, they "use water pistols to shoot at the dragon" ( PRC) & " anti aircraft guns to shoot ( learn from the man with bad hairdo) at ants" ( all the small people involved in shipping the..)..

What is not new...has anything changed? NYET!...:p
