1. Trump took on 16 Republican Presidential Candidates who were all Senators or Governors
2. Trump took on CNN, ABC, CNBC, NBC, CBS, NYT, Washington Post
3. Democratic Presidential Nominee, Hillary Clinton
4. President Obama
5. Republican Party
6. Democratic Party

and Trump won decisively on 8 Nov 2016.

In contrast LHL is afraid to take on WP, SDP in a fair contest and had to gerrymander election boundaries and resort to control of the media and Election Dept.

And Trump accepts a token salary of $1. In contrast LHL demanded to be paid $2m a year

It is therefore not surprising that many world leaders despise LHL, Coupled with LHL's poor EQ, big mouth and poor diplomacy, LHL is ignored by most world leaders.

The tragedy is that LHL is so sheltered and isolated that he thinks he has good relations with all countries including China, USA, Malaysia, Indonesia.

Singapore is in for a very tough time ahead with LHL and pap in charge. Good times are over and Singaporean girls be prepared to go overseas to be maids

It is when Singaporeans open our eyes and compare and contrast PAP with other world leaders that we know how bad PAP is. With the coming of Trump, the contrast is even more stark between pap LHL and Trump

1. Trump is leader of the world's largest economy. LHL runs a puny SG
2. Trump fights the whole system to earn his right. LHL wants to control the system and demands his right
3. Trump allows Americans to scold him, to protest against him. LHL jails a 16year old singaporean and bankrupts a jobless Singaporean for speaking up.
4. Trump works triedlessly. LHL faints in an aircon hall
5. Trumps fights for Americans. LHL favours foreigners
6. Trump works selflessly for the people. LHL works for his bonus
7. Trump pays himself a token $1. LHL demands $millions to serve

Yes, having its tentacles in all areas of SG life does not give confidence of SG's political leadership. These are all short term measures to make sure that a lousy leadership is not exposed. Ultimately, if LHL is lousy and pap is lousy, they will be found out. The truth is emerging

PM Lee and the PAP ministers are the lowest paid politicians in the world because they do not take bribes. All the so-called lowly paid politicians around the world take lots of bribes and are probably billionaires flushed with black money. PAP is the best.

Salaries and bribes are too different aspects.

For PAP to demand highest salary so that they dont have to take bribe is wrong.

To take bribe because of low salary is also wrong.

Are you suggesting that Australia PM takes bribes? Are you suggesting that Obama took bribes?

I dont subscribe to pap's reason that high pap will deter bribes. Did Michael Palmer take sexual bribes despite high pay? Accepting bribe is a character flaw, not economic reason

In most places, politicians sees salaries and bribes as the same. PAP is being pragmatic in paying politicians and civil servants high salaries so that they are less tempted to take bribes. If you have worked in ASEAN countries, you would know that bribing local officials is common and that corruption enforcement is weak and corruption enforcement officials themselves are on the take.

I am not suggesting that specific politicians take bribes. I am merely stating the fact that most politicians, who happen to be poorly paid officially as listed on a simple Google search, take bribes. There's always a chance that some poorly paid politician whose cock you suck, doesn't take bribes or makes political decisions for personal benefit after they leave public office.

Palmer took sexual favours. He didn't defraud tax payers out of millions or billions because he was easily tempted by his low public pay.

You don't subscribe to anything PAP says, but if WP says the same thing, you would be agreeing with it in a heartbeat.

all politicians profited from graft to various degrees. the PAP is no exception of course, and they are still so greedy to pay themselves very high salaries. we will never know the extent of their corruption and graft unless there is a change of governing party in the future.

I rather PAP gets greedy and pay itself millions, than for a PAP to officially pay itself peanuts but siphon off hundreds of millions or even billions annually from taxpayers. Weighing the pros and cons, it is far cheaper to openly pay PAP millions than for them to siphon off billions while acting pious on a pittance public salary that most people expect politicians to live on.

the 70% have no problems with the PAP ludicrous high salaries. in other countries, there will be protests and riots against those greedy politicians.
