Well said sir virus! You are a true blue kumgong sinkie, follow the straight and narrow! But that is besides the point. Detaining the vehicles is excessive if small arms smuggling is the problem. Anybody can see that.

sir, if you volunteer and they still neber alest you then i believe your story.

smuggling small arms nowadays should be leegalized. otherwise you will not trumpeting with small hands.

You are exactly right. I can bet you that the GPMG were not declared.
US military also send GPMG via various tranport services. It is declared on the manifest. So if ours were not, it is clear. BS on sovereign immunity if it ain't diplomatic shippment.

I doubt it had anything to do with the declaration per se. Probably an excuse while they examine why the US shortlisted the Terrex. The thing about we training in Taiwan while for the One China policy is another smokescreen as it not a secret. Go to any forum on SAF and Taiwan and its all there to see. If anyone is charged by the HK authorities for failing to declare, it is to please the ignorant masses that it was indeed a purely enforcement action.

More importantly we fucked up by giving them the oppotunity.

I suspected much more were not declared in these fiasco to cause the entire shipment to be detained. Anything can be shipped as long it is properly declared. Let's see who's head is gonna row after CNY.

Will the USA now buy the Terrex now that their specs are known to their potential enemies?

Will SAF be giving out more medals to their paper Generals for this incident? I am sure MRT boss would like to have a few more to keep up with the North Koreans.....

As I mentioned in this thread, at No.5 of the original post, I think the US will run far away from this. They will have a hard time explaining to the congressional watch dogs why they are buying a compromised IFV.

the terrex 2 that the usmc is testing is vastly different from this older model. but as in all older/newer variants, there are commonalities and same vulnerabilities. it's the risk of chicoms finding out the same "archilles heel" that may prompt the usmc to tread cautiously and delay any decision on acquiring the t2.

yes, you are right. the engine might be a larger one, the tranny might be a heavier one to handle the horse power increase, and overall weight might be more, etc. But the design philosophy is the same. i.e. balance of the armour, where the emphasis is on, etc. For that alone, the USMC should drop the Terrex like a hot potato.

Notice how the thread starter shifts away from his original claim that HK port authorities was honorable and only held back our Terrex because we had illegally stored small arms in the op boxes. No case lah! All change topic or hiding away.
