Here is interesting rule of thumb. No matter what your views and feelings are about culture, roots, politics, when it comes to education you would send your kids to the West for tertiary education. They might do a module or a post grad or a diploma in China but your core education will be in the West if overseas is an option.

All the opium stories, the factual western record of imperialism, overseas conquest and invasions, sponsored coups and overthrow of government thru assassination are suddenly forgotten. Its called context. They would not dare suggest to their own kids to consider China because they would be laughed and ridiculed.
