Default Eldershield is a Big Failure

Eldershield has failed big time. Instead of studying why Eldershield fails so badly, PAP is contemplating making it compulsory. This is serious. I hope PAP MPs can come out and speak for Singaporeans rather than let PAP shaft Eldershield down our throats especially when it is a bad scheme

High monthly premium, low payout when sick, not objective criteria (has to be certified by doctor before qualifying for payout), if qualified, only receive small payout for short period. If so many obstacles and low payout over short period, why bother to opt for Eldershield. Many already told the pap when Eldershield was launched, that the scheme is set to fail

I do not think it is a big failure as such. It just need more generous, sincere and unconditional funding from the government; that's all.
At present, the government is very kiasu and kiasi about becoming a welfare state. More can be done, as always!

Look at how difficult it is for an insured to claim a payout and the paltry sum if she succeeds. No wonder no one wants the Eldershield

Basic Eldershield premium is $861 at age 60. If sick, payout is S$300 for a maximum of 60 months (5 years).

PAP is trying to resuscitate the failed Eldershield scheme by making it compulsory.

I hope this will anger more Singaporeans. Why shd we be forced to pay for useless schemes? If Eldershield scheme is good, no need to make it compulsory

It is too cumbersome to get payouts even when the elderly insured is sick and payout is only for a few months to maximum of 5yrs. So many elderly opt out of the scheme. Now pap is thinking of making it compulsory for people to be on Eldershield

Compulsory Eldershield is the product of a bloated bureaucracy and calculated to benefit the healthcare and insurance industry and to help PAP maintain short term parliamentary monopoly by win votes of stupid Singaporeans before the PAP has totally exhausted SG only resource (man power) before migrating with their ill gotten wealth to greener pastures:

Such an imbalanced economy remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country, and tends to cause the national currency to become devalued paper-money, rendering the country ineligible for international-development credit.[12]

Is Singapore gonna be the next banana republic state?
In a Banana republic where its everyman for himself, u don't need a bomb to kill anyone, just a simple disruption like traffic lights breakdown and these uncivilized barbarians (economic elites in SG who can afford exorbitantly priced COEs), its everyman for himself as each tries to bulldoze his way through, ultimately, they kill themselves in the stampede that soon follows...

Could self-serving PAP (ivory tower) leadership be leading Singapore towards a state of self-destruction/ civil war?...

Deploying sock puppets to speak as trained(whipped) to do: promoting self/ sectarian interest of the elites over that of the public good?: "If the annual salary of the Minister of Information, Communication and Arts is only $500,000, it may pose some problems when he discuss policies with media CEOs who earn millions of dollars because they need not listen to the minister's ideas and proposals. Hence, a reasonable payout will help to maintain a bit of dignity."

Bending election rules and deployment of the AGC to do one's dirty work of forcing more skeletons into the closet?:

    Anyhow:
In a Banana Republic of Singapore, foreigners and the state junta own more of the resources and opportunities than the citizens themselves have access to... The big question is where are we now...

    Banana republic
In political science, the term banana republic is a pejorative descriptor for a servile dictatorship that abets or supports, for kickbacks, the exploitation of large-scale plantation agriculture, especially banana cultivation.[2] More generally, it is a derogatory term for a country that is considered to have a weak economy, a dishonest or cruel government, and public services that do not work.[11] In economics, a banana republic is a country operated as a commercial enterprise for private profit, effected by a collusion between the State and favored monopolies, in which the profit derived from the private exploitation of public lands is private property, while the debts incurred thereby are a public responsibility. Such an imbalanced economy remains limited by the uneven economic development of town and country, and tends to cause the national currency to become devalued paper-money, rendering the country ineligible for international-development credit.[12]

For Medishield Life, Minister of Health threatened that those who cant pay the premiums face jail. Many Singaporeans were elated as nw they can get free board and lodging and free medical care at Changi Hilton. PAP realised how stupid they sounded and conveniently ease off that threat. We were hoping to see how the PAP was going to implement the Minister's threat to jail Medishield Life defaulters.

I hope the pap will be double silly, make Eldershield compulsory and threaten to jail Eldershield defaulters.

I am really surprised that Sporeans have tolerated multi-million $ salaries in the PAP gov't.

It used to be that civil servants had low pay in exchange for job security. Now they have high pay, security, allowed to run side businesses, can set up 2$ companies, have plenty of conflict of interests, .... & answer to no one except their own party.

I think it is too late now because corruption hasm now become deep rooted in Spore. My indonesian friend called it "organised & orderly" corruption
