[h=1]Hong Kong newspaper reports that Singapore’s armoured vehicles are missing from warehouse[/h]
Apple Daily, a Hong Kong based newspaper reported that the nine armoured vehicles seized by the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department in November last year is not seen in the warehouse in which it had been impounded.
The paper said that a reporter from the publication was able to see the Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicles belonging to the Singapore Armed Forces covered with green canvas in the warehouse from 26 to 30 December, but that he did not see it this morning (2 Jan). Apple Daily said that the security guards on the ground refused to respond to their reporters’ queries.

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) has not delivered a statement on this latest development yet. MINDEF said on 26 Nov that the containers with the armoured vehicles which were opened for inspection have been resealed by Hong Kong customs and shifted to the depot at the River Trade Terminal, which is a secured access-controlled area.
Singapore’s Defence Minister, Dr Ng Eng Hen, said on 30 Dec that the detention of Singapore’s Terrex armoured vehicles by Hong Kong authorities was a low point in 2016, but that it does not pose an existential threat or even a potential threat.
Dr Ng asked Singaporeans to not allow this one incident to shake our confidence or weaken our solidarity. He added: “We are a sovereign and independent country, and we will chart our own future.”

what is the bet that Bargain Hen and the vaunted SAF G2 Intelligence don't even know they are not in the warehouse anymore.

Nine vehicles were busted out during a lightning raid and recovery mission personally led by BG (Ret) Lee

A joint team of commandoes and SOF led by BG Lee with Minister Hen as 2IC parachuted into HKG last night via C-130 Hi-Lo insertion. After landing on the Peak, they took the tram down and commandeered a double decker bus and proceeded to infiltrate the classified high security HKG customs warehouse. Once inside, they restarted the 9 Terrex and drove away. Hotly pursued by HKG police, a running gunfight ensued, where the AFVs were trapped at Tsim Sha Tsui with their backs to the sea and surrounded by dastardly HKG police. In a brilliant move, BG Lee ordered all the Terrex to drive into the sea, knowing that they can float and swim in the water. As we speak he is now half way down the South China sea heading to Zikapore and to a hero's welcome................ then I woke up.

That might be the funniest thing Ive seen from you…usually its mindless drivel that washes over me like nausea.

But still, props where they are due. As i mentioned, Scroobie is on the money, the idea is to get these machines back without drawing any attention.

So they could well be back already but the deal is not to gloat about it and infuriate the chinks all over again.

Hong Kong’s Customs and Excise Department has moved to quash speculation that nine military vehicles from Singapore detained in the city since November have been returned.
The department made the rebuttal after Apple Daily said in a report that the vehicles, which had been detained in the outdoor storage yard of a Tuen Mun storage facility for weeks, were missing since Monday.
The department stressed that the vehicles were still being kept in Hong Kong.

“As the case is still under investigation, no further information is available. The suspected controlled items are still kept at a customs storage place in Tuen Mun. They have been stored indoors since December 6,” a spokesman said.
At a daily press briefing, Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Geng Shuang would only say that the Hong Kong government is handling the incident in accordance with relevant laws.
The nine armoured vehicles were uncovered by Hong Kong customs on November 23 in containers without the required permits. The cargo was bound for Singapore from the Taiwanese port of Kaohsiung.
The vehicles, which were not “specifically” declared in the cargo manifest, had been used in a military exercise in Taiwan.
It was Hong Kong’s biggest seizure of “strategic commodities” in two decades.
Last week, Singapore’s defence minister Ng Eng Hen said the Lion City’s military had learned a lesson from the saga.
A Facebook picture of one of the vehicles when it was first seized at the container terminal.
In a Facebook post, titled “2016 – A Look Back”, Ng described it as “a low point from the defence perspective”.
“The [Singapore armed forces] will learn from this episode and has already changed its practices to better protect our assets,” Ng said in the post, without revealing details.
“But all of us are of course upset that the (vehicles), our property, have not been returned to Singapore.”
In November, Singapore reassured China that it “will not deviate” from the one-China principle while making it clear the city state hopes to exercise its “full rights of recovery” available.
The remarks by Singapore’s foreign affairs minister Dr Vivian Balakrishnan and defence minister Ng came a day after China’s foreign ministry said it had lodged a diplomatic protest to Singapore over the incident, demanding the Lion City to strictly abide by the one-China principle.
Observers said the protest was a warning to both Singapore and Taiwan, as Singapore had been carrying out military exercises on the self-ruled island – a practice that long angered Beijing.

this is a bad sign.
they are now stored "indoor".
in other words, they expect that these terrex will be stored for longer period of times and that is why they are kept indoor.

PAP deserves to be treated by China the way it treats Singaporeans. Karma is a bitch

Maybe they started rusting, so had to be stored indoors?
