SINGAPORE — A Malaysian motorcyclist has been arrested for trying to smuggle 900 grams of heroin into Singapore – by hiding the drugs in his underwear.

The 23-year-old was stopped for checks at about 6.10am on Wednesday (Dec 21) at the Tuas Checkpoint, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said in a statement on Thursday.

Immigration officers conducting the inspection suspected that the man could have been hiding drugs in his underwear and alerted the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB).

Two packets of heroin, weighing about 900 grams and worth more than S$63,000, were found in the Malaysian's underwear.

The man was arrested and could face the death penalty if convicted.

The Misuse of Drugs Act (MDA) provides for the death penalty if the amount of diamorphine (or pure heroin) imported is 15g or more.

Depends on purity of the package, bro.
Don't think that 900g package is 100% pure, then again, if the package is 2% heroin... makan rope...

Don't know. Poor boy like me only smoke ganja. Heroin is used by the rich blokes. Rock stars, successful executives, celebrities, and children from rich families. Must be good though. When I free and got money, I will take a trip to some hill in Thailand to try opium. Our ancestors loved it.

Cheers!

Street value of 1g of heroin is USD124 per gram, so a 900 gram of pure no.4 heroin would fetch 1.116 million USD? We haven't even talk about cutting of it which would mean somewhere in the region of 30-40% purity? The final sale price would fetch more than USD 2 million in this case?
