LKY was a smart crook. LKY was well known for looking after his family first. Even those who were distantly related were given good paying jobs in the gov't.
He also understood the selfish Sporean. That is why he was against rich family members & civil servants flaunting their wealth. Maybe that is why held power for so long.
Obviously he didn't spend enough time educating his son as a father, or as a Mentor Minister.
