Hello,

[Full article]
http://blog.chinadaily.com.cn/blog-2497357-37460.html

Nobel laureate Chen-Ning Yang released an article on WeChat expressing his views that China should not build the world's largest particle collider.

http://intlpress.sinaapp.com/blog/essay.php?id=5
David Gross, a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Science, responded to Dr.Yang's comment on:
High-energy physics produced any "tangible benefits" to society?

Yes! Even taking an extremely narrow view of this question, the technologies directly springing from particle physics have spawned huge industries that generate revenues far exceeding the magnitude of the investment in basic science. The multi-billion dollar accelerator industry, operating thousands of small-scale particle accelerators around the world ranging from light sources, to medical accelerators for cancer-fighting radiation therapies, owes its existence to particle physics. And the need for powerful magnets at proton colliders necessitated the development of superconducting magnet technology, itself a billion dollar industry, which are the critical component for MRI machines, a five billion dollar industry.

David Gross, being a physicists, seems to not know much about economics. You can hypothetically create a "billion dollar industries" from a huge unused mountain and you spend billions moving it back and forth between two locations - repeatedly ad infinitum. Surely, billion dollar secondary industries may arise around new technologies for moving mountains around "better and faster" giving larger revenues - they somehow would still end up to be of some use somewhere.

CERN's particle physics is all fictitious. Unbelievable but true. Should anyone build super particle collider machines where purported proton energy of 6.5 x 10¹² eV has real energy of 470 x 10⁶ eV - off by a factor of 15,000!

Chinkland the copycat must make a grand copy of CERN's LHC. Otherwise, how to prove that they are the Middle Kingdom?

Another great opportunity to corrupt!

Nobody really knows what is the research about.

Stephen Hawking encourages China to build hadron collider

2016-11-28 10:19People's Daily Online Editor: Li Yan

Many renowned Chinese and foreign physicists have joined a discussion about whether China should build a next-generation l
arge hadron collider. Britain physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking is encouraging China to do just that.

"China has an incredible opportunity to become the world leader here — don't waste it. Agood example is to build the
Great Collider that can lead high energy physics for the nextfifty years," Hawking wrote.

Well-known mathematician Shing-Tung Yau is in favor of Hawking's suggestion, andproposed that China choose a place near Shanhai Pass
in Qinhuandao, Hebei province as itsbuilding site. Meanwhile, Chen Ning Yang, Nobel Laureate in Physics, openly opposed theidea in September,
though Wang Yifang, director of the Institute of High-Energy Physics(IHEP) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, refuted Chen's objections.

The discussion goes beyond China's borders. Philip Warren Anderson, an Americanphysicist and Nobel laureate, is among the opponents of the plan,
while David JonathanGross, an American theoretical physicist and string theorist, is a proponent.

Also important to mention is that the world's current largest hadron collider is the LHC atCERN. It helped scientists to discover the Higgs boson,
which is regarded as the lastbuilding block of the model.

Below is the original text by Hawking:

Particle physics is definitely not a dying field. It is however an entirely different enterprisethan it was in 1980. Since then, the standard model looks
to be essentially confirmed andthis may give the impression that the field is complete. However, that is far from beingtrue.

There are phenomena that are just not included in the standard model. Some are CPviolation, neutrino oscillations, dark matter.
In theory, the problems are immense: how toinclude gravity, the recently discovered dualities of quantum field theories, quarkconfinement,
dark energy, black holes, early-universe cosmology.

It is a different world butone that offers huge challenges to ambitious young people interested in how our Universeworks. China has an incredible
opportunity to become the world leader here — don't wasteit. A good example is to build the Great Collider that can lead high energy physics for the next fifty years.

In a sense, "copycat" is true.

China, it's physicists, still do not have the confidence to "think with their own brain". Most of them follow the lead of the western top universities - Princeton, Cambridge. The chief Chinese physicist who proposed the plan to the government talks about creating a "higgs factory" - not just 1/2 beans! Just because others talk about higg's,.. hiccup, gravitational this...that, they want to say they will do them bigger!

Did they ask why? The first thing in science is asking "Why?"

I am not a "super" physicist, but I know the particle physics of the LHC is founded on special relativity, E=mc2 ... etc. If Mr. Einstein's relativity goes down the drain, all else of particle physics - including the famous higgs - would also be washed down together.

Do you believe in Einstein's theory where:
1) You hold 2 clocks, one in each hand, and bring them together moving slowly to finally meet. Special relativity says you have to believe that the left clock runs slower than the right clock (time dilation of moving clocks) and, at the same time, the right clock runs slower than the left clock (time dilation again). Yes! They say you have to believe - on their authority; don't use your (Chinese) brain. Don't believe! There is a German Albert Einstein Institute with full pages at their website telling you it is "counter-intuitive", but true!

You place your bet. Use your brain or leave it at "off" mode.

einstein's concept of speed of light as a constant c in the formula e=mc^2 is under assault as 2 researchers are theorizing that speed of light is variable depending on temperature of the universe, in this case, extreme uber temperature during the big bang. for the universe to expand rapidly and uniformly during the big bang, speed of light must have been greater than gravity at that point in time. hawking has another theory on it, but these 2 scientists believe their alternative theory can be tested and proven.

contemplating this as i observe a type 4 mass gravitating towards a black hole partially filled with water deposited from a water closet. the mass is not moving at the speed of light.

Yes! Many physicists of the time in 1905 dismissed Einstein's relativity - Rutherford, Nikola Testla. Tesla categorically dismissed Einstein's relativities. He is considered a greatest genius physicist, inventor - the "Man Who Light Up The World", giving us our AC distribution system.

Special relativity's 2nd postulate has light speed to be a universal constant; however fast you travel relative to light, you'll measure the light speed to find it always to be 299792458 m/s - a universal constant!

If a car is coming towards you at speed v and you are driving at the speed w, you don't need an experiment to "prove" the relative speed is v + w; you just add the speeds. Now replace the oncoming car to be a light photon (assume a micro toy car at speed 299792458) and your car speed is 100 kmh. Einstein says, you cannot add that extra 100 kmh to get the relative speed - from postulate; meaning you just must "believe", there's no "Why?" As if you "do the experiment to measure" you would find the "relative speed" to be the same magic speed of 299792458! Through magic!

You place your bet! Can you or can you not add the "extra" 100 kmh for relative speed of light?

Mentioned Princeton University was funded built from illegal opium trade in China.

With opium trade bankrupt BRITISH EMPIRE are nothing but poor nation struggling to bring AMDK.

China owned Princeton Columbia and most elite unis in America.

Even Bell telephone was built from opium drug trade.

If not for the drug trade angmoh where got dua ki.
