The biggest problem with Mediacorp drama is their scripting hasn't caught up with times. Their plots and characterizations are often either too simplistic or aimless like those slices of life melodrama. In the 70s or early 80s where media entertainment was limited and general educational and metropolitan levels were low this might have worked, but to rehash the same sort of stuff for widely traveled inhabitants of a global cosmopolitan city with access to cable and internet just isn't going to work.
I often watch CNA for the local fiascos & scandals which are now very common in Spore. Whenever there is a station break they will publicise new programs. The problem is that although I'm watching an english channel they will advertise new shows that will appear in the malay, indian & chinese channels.
Spore has become a rojak society with people from india, PRC china, Philippines, the angmo countries, .... So how do you expect the 4 stations to serve a rojak society
