But he is still covering up the much more closer factor of Global Resources n Environmental, talk only about nuke an virus, and postpone the panic by 1000 yrs.

Global Resources and Environmental Crisis already began for dozen years now.

Humans will not survive another 1,000 years on 'fragile' Earth, according to Professor Stephen Hawking.

The renowned theoretical physicist believes that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or the rising threat of artificial intelligence.

He urged people to take more interest in space travel, and said that we must continue to go into space for the future of humanity.

STEPHEN HAWKING'S VIEWS ON SPACE TRAVEL

In a new book, 'How to Make a Spaceship', the physicist has warned our planet is becoming a dangerous place because of the threat of war or disease.

The book, written by journalist Julian Guthrie, contains an afterword by the physicist.

In an extract published in The Guardian, Professor Hawking describes his views on the future of space travel.

'I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers,' he said.

'I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go to space.'

Professor Hawking received a standing ovation after he urged a packed audience of scholars at Oxford University Union to take an interest in space travel.

At the talk, Professor Hawking gave a one-hour whirlwind history of man's understanding of the origin of the universe from primordial creation myths to the most cutting edge predictions made by 'M-theory'.

He said: 'Perhaps one day we will be able to use gravitational waves to look back into the heart of the Big Bang.

'Most recent advances in cosmology have been achieved from space where there are uninterrupted views of our Universe but we must also continue to go into space for the future of humanity.

'I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping our fragile planet.'

Hawking, who has said he wanted to go into space on Virgin boss Richard Branson's Ride Virgin Atlantic spaceship, continued: 'I therefore want to encourage public interest in space, and I have been getting my training in early.'

Professor Hawking added: 'It has been a glorious time to be alive and doing research in theoretical physics.

'Our picture of the universe has changed a great deal in the last 50 years and I am happy if I have made a small contribution.

'The fact that we humans who are ourselves mere collections of fundamental particles of nature have been able to come so close to understanding the laws that are governing us and our universe is a great achievement.'

Professor Hawking said: 'I don't think we will survive another 1,000 years without escaping our fragile planet'

Professor Hawking has previously described his views on the future of space travel, in the afterword of the book, 'How to Make a Spaceship.'

He said: 'I believe that life on Earth is at an ever-increasing risk of being wiped out by a disaster, such as a sudden nuclear war, a genetically engineered virus, or other dangers,' he said.

'I think the human race has no future if it doesn't go to space.'

Making a poignant plea to his young audience of students from the University of Oxford, where he himself did his undergraduate degree, he said: 'Remember to look up to the stars and not down at your feet.

'Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist.

'Be curious and however life may seem there's always something you can do and succeed at - it matters that you don't just give up.'

He explained in his talk, titled 'The Origin of the Universe', how he was currently working to prove how the origin of the universe did obey the laws of physics as was understood what modern physicists called M-theory.

The conglomerate of theories incorporated Einstein's General Relativity which combined space and time to allowed him to predict the existence of a black hole - an area of space where gravity is so strong not even light can escape it - and Quantum Theory, which predicted the physics of subatomic particles that were being tested in the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva.

'It is the only unified theories that has all the properties that we think the final theory ought to have,' said the professor.

Hawking said he and fellow scientist James Hartle believed that the Big Bang and start of time could be thought of as the South Pole on the globe, where latitudinal lines were akin to an expanding universe, but with every point, including the South Pole, obeying the same laws of nature.

He told of how earlier civilisations had believed the Earth was flat and said: 'If our proposal is correct, it would get rid of time having a beginning, in a similar way that we get rid of the problem of the edge of the Earth (in a flat planet).'

He is still hiding the True Crisis source, but suggested the same escape that he hope for.

I must point out that the True Extinction Cause is Global Resources EXHAUSTION, not nuke war nor virus.

If man was going to extinct by nuke war, escaping to ANYWHERE does NOT HELP, not at all, because the SAME NUKE WAR will Follow man to Mars or ANY PLANET. When we nuke on earth we will nuke on Any Planet, no need to flee, fleeing is no avoidance from wars.

Virus also will Follow man to Any Planet, SARS ZIKA HIV DENGUE…… any virus will also travel w man spread to each and every planet's human colony, and men still need to war each other in each and every human colony or planet, the same as Earth. Weather via SQ flights or NASA flights no diff at all.

Hawking's knows this. But he is pretending.

He does not want to point out exactly where the True Extinction Risk is coming from, he s obviously trying to Delay the great panic.

Altogether now!!! Huat ah!!!

Thank goodness I will be dead by then.

Nope he is not telling the Urgency True fully.

FRAGILE PLANET is True, but FRAGILE s too mild and remote to describe the situation, Resources EXHAUSTION plus Environmental Destruction, ALREADY HAPPENED.

50 Yrs will be in very threatening conditions. By 1000 years man turned into Fossils already. If burried deep inside earth where high pressure and heat exist and without oxygen, we will transform into crude oil like dinosaur era lives.

What do you want to become?

Esso? Shell? SPC? Petrolnas?

At the rate we're going, we'll all perish anyway. Let's see how much money a dead civilisation can make. Teehee...

We will use up all resources within a very short time, at the rate we are going. Good environmental quality itself is just another form of Global Resources.

Algae head
A new discovery could let scientists artificially create crude oil in under an hour, accelerating a natural process that normally takes at least a few million years to complete. In nature, crude oil is the product of hundreds of species of algae and bacteria that grew, died, and slowly settled to form deposits of decaying organic matter. This matter builds up and compresses itself, the slow pressure and ever-rising heat slowly baking microorganisms and tiny animals like plankton into a waxy substance called kerogen, then subsequently into the thick, smelly soup of crude oil. Not unlike cooking an onion down to a thick, sweet sludge, natural processes can eventually break down small organisms to a suspension of their least ordered but most energy-dense molecules. Coming to global prominence only in the most immediate portion of oil’s history, we humans slurp up natural crude and process it into (among other things) asphalt, plastics, and gasoline.

The Earth of course got a pretty sizable head start on humanity, bubbling up several big batches of flammable life stew, but even with enormous reservoirs of oil ripe for exploitation, the human race has encountered problems. Projections are finally beginning to include concrete estimates for the emptying of the world’s known sources of oil, and the extraction process itself can be troublesome and polluting. Even leaving aside the problems with burning fossil fuels in the atmosphere (carbon capture is a growing priority for industry), using naturally occurring crude oil introduces problems all its own. So, it makes sense to try to mirror that process at higher rates of speed.

We all know that life will cease to exist on earth at some point. We don't need a genius to tell us the obvious.

This silly Civilization is always presuming it's own eternal existence. Full of misguided values and False calculations. At the very least it's fat hope dreaming distance from it's own Extinction is way too long too inaccurate. It Refused to Admit it's very own SELF-DESTRUCTION behavior, and WRONGLY CONCEIVED VALUES.

The Extinction is A DIRECT RESULT of such mistake, and MUST BE IMMEDIATELY CORRRECTED. Those idiots promoting rubbish values misguiding man to commit massive Total Extinction Suicide must be immediately punished by deaths. No mercy.

Earth is for our species to learn, and grow. From learning how to use its resources wisely, there is less chance of us fucking up new worlds we inhabit. We are learning to be less dependant on depletable resources (like oil) and learning to rely more on renewable sources like solar, wind, geothermal, wave, etc. which we may find on other worlds. We will soon learn to consume other sources for nutrients that we can breed in enclosed spaces (like insects, algae, fungi) and become less dependant on traditional sources like rice, wheat, dairy. Our species will face many catastrophes, from which we learn. We are determined not to perish. Whether or not we deplete our current world of her resources, the sun will eventually go into a Supernova, and we should have developed the means to evacuate the Earth by then. The universe is vast, and we should be able to survive out there. It will be a badder jungle out there. Have fun!

Cheers!

There have been lots of predictions in the past about Peesai's survival chances. Despite ZERO raw materials, little land, Peesai has proved the critics wrong. I am not saying they are right, it is still early. I myself don't see myself here for long. But while I'm here, I just make the best of my situation, do the best I can, and live. Lots of friends and relatives in Singapore. Predictable and orderly society are one of the good things about (let's not talk about negatives, too many, don't want to get depressed). Overall, life here isn't too bad. In fact, many people the rest of the world wished they could live here (those who are already here, have to face the crap though). To directly answer your question, I am not sure if I want Singapore to perish. There are many people I love here, who care for me, and I do not wish to see bad things happen to them, so I'd say that extinction for Singapore isn't what I look forward to. I hope she survives.

Cheers!

How about total sinkieland extinction? That would be great.

(The Origin of the Universe)的演讲中,霍金解释了自己目前正在进行的工作,即证明宇宙的起源确实遵循现代物理学家所谓“M理论”中描述的物理定律。

Never.

Never dream to hoodwink people alike PAP by delusional confusion such as USING RESOURCES MORE WISELY.

Never!

The fundamental facts won't change nor be tricked. The is a finite amount of resources, decreasing every second, as man used them away.

Each resources is gone, after we finished them such as oil. You move to the next resources then that is the next resources to become permanently finished again. How many other resources can you move onto? There is definitely an end which equate to TOTAL EXTINCTION.

Firmly and surely so.

How WISELY can you use resources that they will not finish?

Global Environmental Quality such as temperature range is a form of resources too. Energies we spent, transform to HEAT irreversibly. How WISELY can you last forever?

You can only stretch a bit or buy a little time before TOTAL EXTINCTION. That's all, you have no escape.

Hawking said unless you flee earth.
I say we REDUCE GLOBAL POPULATION DRASTICALLY, and we w have better chance.

Reduction to a level way below earth's self recovery level. We can then last forever.

As for using resources WISELY, the only difference is if you squandered unwisely, the Total Extinction will come sooner. That all.

to all brothers and sisters, i highly recommend watching the netflix series "The Expanse".

it deals with a post-earth society. in the series, humans now live on Earth, Mars, Ceres (the dwarf planet) and the Kuiper belt.

on Earth, human are as corrupt and power hungry as ever.
on Mars, human kind has banded together as one to terraform mars. it is a united society.
on Ceres, it is the wild west and almost anything goes.
on the Kuiper belt, humans born in zero gravity can no longer live on the planets. they are treated as "expendables" to harvest resources for the planets.

we had star trek growing up back in the day.

today, we have "The Expanse"

enjoy your weekend.
