SIGNIFYING the strong business sector interaction with China, a fact not too well known to many is that Singapore has become China's largest investor country.
For the second consecutive year Singapore was China's largest foreign investor with investments amounting to US$5.8 billion in over 700 projects last year. At the same time, Singapore is China's largest investment destination in Asia, and one of the top investment destinations for Chinese companies investing abroad.
In a landmark development, Singapore became China's largest investor country for the first time in 2013 when its investments in China hit US$7.23 billion, according to data from International Enterprise Singapore, the government agency that drives Singapore's external economy.
Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1990, Singapore and China have developed strong links in the areas of trade, finance and investments. Trade and investment ties between Singapore and China in particular have been growing steadily over the years.
China was Singapore's largest trading partner in 2014, with bilateral trade in goods increasing by 5.4 per cent to S$121.5 billion, while Singapore is China's third largest trading partner in Asean. In 2013, total trade between China and Singapore amounted to S$115.2 billion.

Soon the PRC people will find out about Malaysia's bumiputra law and how Chinese are treated there, then let's see how they react to that. Najib should take a look at how the Chinese are seen as and treated at home before putting his hands into the pockets of the Chinese mainland. When it bites, it is going to be very painful.

There is growing local resentment against the Chinese there despite the government embrace of all things Chinese. Ah Tiongs are businessmen and they want a pound of flesh for a yuan. Now, the Africans are experiencing it. Soon, it will be the UMNO idiots. Be prepared for racial riots in mudland within the decade.
This is what I foresee as well, especially when Malaysia is walking the path of becoming a vassal state of Tiongland. In future, Malaysia may be renamed to Chinaysia.

Why Africans Resent The Chinese
In China, people tend to be told only the positive aspects of China's assistance to Africa. For instance, the Chinese government is particularly proud of the 1,860-kilometer-long Tanzania Zambia Railway (TZR), and Africa Hall, the permanent headquarters of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
But the other side of the story is that the TZR rarely functions normally. It has the world's lowest punctuality record at around 10%. It is absolutely typical for a traveler to arrive at their destination 12 hours behind schedule.
Of course, the French company complains that their engineering "efficiency" can be instantly killed by the Chinese. Whereas a project could take up to 30 years for them, a Chinese company might finish the job within three months. The problem is that afterwards it will probably take 30 years, or forever, for the locals to sort out the mess the Chinese "high- efficiency" style created.
Just as the French manager says, Chinese efficiency rarely considers the integration of local culture or sustainability. Typically, when a Chinese company wins a contract, an army of Chinese workers arrive. A few months or a few years later, officials from the two countries will cut the ribbon. Then the Chinese will disappear. Once problems inevitably appear, there are no drafts or documents in the local language, nor any local engineers involved in the project, so that they are often completely abandoned.
