Man gets 11 months' jail for molesting his sisters
A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 11 months' jail after pleading guilty to molesting two of his sisters and insulting the modesty of the younger.

SINGAPORE - A 22-year-old man was sentenced to 11 months' jail on Monday (Oct 17) for molesting his two sisters and insulting the modesty of the younger one.
The unemployed man had pleaded guilty on Sept 26 to molesting his 15-year-old sister on July 16, 2016, and 17-year-old sister sometime in late 2014, and exposing himself to the 15-year-old a few days before July 16.
None of the parties can be named as there is a gag order.
The court heard that at 8am on July 16, 2016, the 15-year-old student who was sleeping was awakened by someone repeatedly touching her T-shirt over her right breast.
When she opened her eyes, she saw her brother standing in front of her, naked. She shouted at him, telling him to leave her room.
He said: "I am sorry'' before returning to his room and locking the door.
He admitted that he felt aroused when he saw the victim sleeping on the bed.
A few days earlier, he had stripped naked and approached the victim to touch him.
He walked away only after she said he was disgusting and told him to put on his clothes.
Investigations also showed that he had molested his other sister two years earlier while she was sleeping in her room.
The accused, who was not represented, had told the court that he had made many mistakes and regretted them.
He could have been jailed for up to two years, fined, caned or received any combined punishment for outrage of modesty.
The maximum punishment for using words or gestures intended to insult the modesty of a woman is one year's jail and a fine.
