Its common knowledge that Malaysians are sick and tired of his wife and her extravagant lifestyle. Even his own siblings have spoken out against him.

Look at the bigger picture, no doubt Najib has been very chummy with PAP ever since he took the helm and we have less issues with Malaysia these days. However his political longevity is now in doubt and there is no telling how much resentment his successor will bear against Sinkies being too chummy with him.
