An axe-wielding Afghan teenager attacked passengers on a train in Germany on Monday night, leaving three seriously injured, in what was described by officials as a "probable" Islamist attack.

Police shot dead the suspect, a 17-year-old Afghan refugee, as he attempted to flee the scene. The assault in Wurzburg was the latest suspected terror attack to shock Europe following the atrocity in Nice last Thursday.

"It is quite probable that this was an Islamist attack," said a ministry spokesman, adding that the attacker had apparently shouted "Allahu akbar" (God is greatest) as he stabbed people.

The attacker was said to have been carrying "weapons for slashing and cutting”, according to German media reports, including an axe.

Three people were "seriously injured," 14 people were left in shock, and one other person suffered minor injuries.

"The perpetrator was able to leave the train, police left in pursuit and as part of this pursuit, they shot the attacker and killed him," said a spokesman for the Wurzburg police.

This lady should be given credit for the attack...

Nobody buys this crap. Other people suffer as well, especially Christians in the middle east and Pakistan, but you don't see them committing terrorist acts on the scale of these people.

All hail Merkel!!!! I was somewhat bemused by how the French authority labelled the Nice attacker as someone who was 'radicalized within a short time' which led to his heinous act on Bastille Day. How would one know if a person is sufficiently radicalized to pull off an act like this. Can radicalization be ascertained or measured in any way to prevent future acts like Nice ,Paris or elsewhere? It's akin to putting the cart before the horse or worse closing the stable door after the wild horse has bolted.

As much as I dislike Trump, I do have to agree that the best course of action is to ban immigrants from destinations who are still grappling with the issue of Islam and whether it is a religion of peace.

Running amok is not uncommon amongst the followers of the religion of the Arabs.....

For the women, it's mass hysteria.....

Not Arab bro, specifically Malays as a race in both Malaysia and Indonesia. And males only. The word is also a derivative from the Malays language. Nothing to do with religion.

Mass hysteria is more pronounced in among females working in groups. And its occurs all around the World, the UK, US etc. Not confined to race. As more Malays girls were in assembly lines in Singapore and Malaysia in later years, it was thought to be race related.

I guess the bleeding heart liberals of Europe now understand the mess that they are in. They gave in too much and these people are asking for more. They should start deporting them if they are not prepared to integrate. Imagine they are given accommodation, living allowance and security and they repay in this manner. Why can't the Arab world relocate them and share the burden among themselves. Only the Swiss and the Dutch know what they are doing.

Do you know what type of accommodation and in what locations the refugees are being alloted?

In Denmark and the Netherlands, the governments gave them housing in red light districts from where decent white folks had moved out long ago.

The living allowance the refugees are given is equivalent to what a jobless citizen is given per week. Tell me how is that enough to feed themselves?

If you're really serious and keen to know why the Arab world, especially the wealthy Arab states in the Middle East, are reluctant to host Syrian, Iraqi and Afghan refugees, please watch the interviews conducted by Al Jazeera journalists with some Arab ministers. You can find some of them on Youtube.

Last year Mehdi Hassan, in a program called "Upfront", interviewed a Qatari minister and asked him why wealthy Arab countries are unwilling to host refugees of the Middle East. Unfortunately that program is unavailable on Youtube. You may wish to approach your country's state-controlled media if they have archived it.

Also in the past year, In another edition of "Upfront" and under the segment called "Reality Check", Mehdi Hassan himself gave a brief run-down on why Middle Eastern refugees are not welcomed by rich Arab nations.

Just where and what is the tipping point before individuals become sufficiently radicalized before they commit acts of terrorism. You've heard ad nauseam the narratives of 'experts' on this subject. If it cannot be quantified by any measure, would it not be better to ban the free movement of of these people and deport suspects as Sarkozy has suggested. This may not be the silver bullet or panacea for this growing scourge but it's a start.

The issue of Islam is best decided by the Muslim world and not Europe,America or Asia.

By accepting islam, Muslims already went berserk.

It turns out that the four people who were seriously injured were all not Germans. They were hongkie chinks!! Chink tourists are so horrible that even good migrant refugees can't stand them!

Three people in a group from Hong Kong were seriously hurt and one slightly injured in the attack in Wurzburg. Another 14 were treated for shock....

The South China Morning Post said it was believed the four injured were a 62-year-old man, his 58-year-old wife, their daughter, 27, and her boyfriend, 31. The 17-year-old son travelling with them was not hurt, it said.

Stinkingtothecore...are no better, you can hear them 10km away....with their "wah lao eh!"....anywhere in the world, & you will say.."there goes the neighbourhood.....I have asked the Chinese as in PRC....why they talk so loud?...the answer, " it is normal back home!....why they walk around in their underwear..." it is normal back home"...but they forgot they are not back home...so it goes, "you can take a person out of the jungle, but you cannot take the jungle out of the person"..
