There's nothing wrong with ICA opening a special lane for the Minister of Manpower. If Ah Huat is unhappy, he should work harder to win more support so that WP can oust PAP from marine parade grc. WP can go fuck itself!

u got read porperly or not ?

Mr Png said that most people in the queue probably did not mind that as a Minister Mr Tan had certain privileges which others did not, but felt that it was unfair that besides the Minister an “entourage of grassroots leaders and members with shopping bags in tow also enjoyed the privilege of fast clearance at the custom without needing to join the crowd.”

a bunch of crass grasslooters were there.
u one of them ? :(:(:confused::confused:

The grassroot leaders explained to him that it was normal for a lane to be opened for people returning from Desaru. These were the same grassroot leaders who told him that elderly people collected cardboard for exercise and leisure.:biggrin:

Hahahaahha. Yes, and how come Tan CJ not appalled at the favourtism shown to his Crassloot posse at the ICA checkpoint? This asshole was shocked and appalled at everything else.

[h=1]An “appalling” year for Minister Tan Chuan-Jin[/h]14
By Andrew Loh on November 7, 2014 Current Affairs
Tan Chuan-Jin

So, he has done it again – expressing how he is taken aback once more about something.
I am referring to the Minister of Manpower, Tan Chuan-Jin, relatively newly-minted Member of Parliament for Marine Parade GRC.
Mr Tan’s latest outburst stems from the Sim Lim Square incident where errant retailers allegedly scammed their customers. In particular, the shop Mobile Air which has been in the news in recent days.
Here’re the headlines in TODAY:

Here’s Mr Tan’s Facebook post where he expressed his indignation – “I’m shocked at the behaviour shown,” he says.

Mr Tan’s penchant for being alarmed and expressing this online started in 2011, apparently – in fact, just some 6 months after he was voted into Parliament in May, he found the practice by some bosses to send their foreign workers to gamble as their proxies “appalling”.

On 21 September 2013, Mr Tan was again “appalled” – this time by how a dog owner had treated his dog.
He called it “abysmal” too.

4 months later, Mr Tan had occasion to feel “appalled” yet again – after witnessing reports of a series of deaths of workers at construction sites around Singapore.

2 months later, Mr Tan was appalled once more – at how Indonesian marines had posed as the MacDonald House bombers at the Jakarta International Defence Dialogue (JIDD) exhibition on 19 March 2014.

And the very next month, Mr Tan expressed how he was “somewhat startled” by a Straits Times’ report of objections by some Singaporeans to the plans by some Filipinos to hold their independence day celebrations at Orchard.

After a 5-month respite from being upset by something, Mr Tan – unfortunately – was once again “appalled” by what had transpired at Hong Lim Park on 27 September.
This time, however, Mr Tan did not just feel “appalled” by the incident but also felt it “vile” and an “absolute disgrace”.
Here was what he posted on his Facebook page:

Funny thing is: the so-called “heckling” incident which virtually made Mr Tan foam at the mouth did not actually happen, as far as current evidence suggests.
But Mr Tan was not alone in jumping to conclusion about the so-called incident. He was among a bandwagon of PAP MPs who had made the unsubstantiated “heckling” accusation. (See here.)
And 2 months later, Mr Tan expressed how he was “shocked” by the Sim Lim Square episode.
So, seems that 2014 especially was a very “appalling” and "shocking" year for Mr Tan.
He had felt “appalled”, “shocked”, “startled” by events and incidents.
We hope he will have a better 2015, but we can't guarantee if he will feel less appalled in 2016, though.
Incidentally, no PAP MP has expressed any shock or being appalled by what Chinese national Yang Yin has allegedly done, even though he has been in the news for several months now.
Now, that is appalling and shocking.

in real crisis, we know who has the priority for flights out of sinkieland...pointless to talk up loyalty ,defend this little island..everyman himself...listen up Nsmen, active,MR folks or otherwise, dont bother to defend when called up,i know I wont..so should you....

Yes, during crisis, there will be a special lane for security clearance for FAmilee and MIWs. Then special boarding priority for them too. Peasants can cram in the cargo hold of the plane if they want out.

Quotable "profound" quotes of Tan Chuan Jin on workplace accidents[/h]
THE Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and construction industry must review and prevent lapses in the building process for support structures, said Acting Manpower Minister Tan Chuan-Jin, in the wake of at least seven construction site accidents this month.

"Accidents normally happen when there are lapses,"
(Profound!) he told reporters after a visit yesterday to a worksite behind Palawan Beach on Sentosa, where a supporting structure collapsed and left 10 men injured and one dead on Wednesday.

The incident was the third construction site accident reported this week and the sixth this month. Of these, five were related to formwork structures, which are typically made of metal and support the mould into which concrete is poured.

A seventh worksite accident took place on Wednesday afternoon in Kallang, where the new National Stadium is being built.

While the ministry is still investigating the cases, Mr Tan had questions about how the building of support structures was done.

He wondered about things like whether the structures were designed correctly, whether the installation was done properly, and if the right people were trained. PROFOUND!

All work at the Sentosa site, which is for a family entertainment centre by construction firm Debenho, has been halted due to safety lapses, said Mr Tan.

An MOM spokesman said initial findings showed safety lapses such as gaps in safety barriers and poor housekeeping. IMPRESSIVE!

The centre was previously slated to be built by the year end but this is now likely to be delayed, said a spokesman for Sentosa Development Corp, which commissioned the project. "Our priority is to work towards the safe execution of the works, and to bring the works to full completion."

Yesterday, Mr Tan sent his condolences to the family of the 36-year-old Chinese national who died in the accident. The worker's family members are in the process of getting visas to come here to collect his body.

Debenho project manager Poh Hua Nong said the man died from a head injury, and that the firm would pay for his family to fly here as well as costs related to funeral rites and compensation.

On Wednesday, Mr Tan said that MOM would review two existing workplace safety programmes. Yesterday, he added: "This is just to enhance the whole system, and make sure we heighten sensitivity to safety."

He advised construction firms not to rush, saying that there are proper procedures and "if you cut corners, things can happen". PROFOUND!

While the MOM will "press for heavy deterrence if we find that certain groups are responsible (for the accidents)", Mr Tan said he is not considering increasing punishments right now. "It shouldn't be that 'punishments are heavier, therefore I follow'. It is the fact that lives are lost," he said. (Mr Tan should tell that to his cabinet colleagues who have been using heavier fines to deter offences!)

This is called royalty treatment. Why go hawker centre buy chicken wings can queue up but go custom cannot queue?

just like arse loong taking business class to japan, want to wayang and pretend humble and self deprecating and integrating with peasant folks and identifying with the common man. but this is the kind of thing that shows the true colours of PAP.this is what they really think when they say "all animals are created equal".

According to KBW logic, next time PAP and their Grassroot Members do not have to clear immigration custom in order to avoid any argument.
