My regular makan is the wanton mee. First go to MPH to read some mags and listen some hits from the record store...then go to library to do some studies and later to Cathay to watch a movie... Yep, those were the days!

Cathay is still there, but if you mean Capitol, it has transformed from a cinema to a theatre (picture below). :biggrin:

They've transformed Capitol theatre into some kind of mall. Been there once & didn't think much of it. I think it is only a matter of time until it joins the grave yard of malls like Orchard Rd.

There are plans to bring back Capitol as a cinema.
The shops are suffering as no traffic....they trying to market it as some high class shops.
Shaw donated the entire area to URA back then as they didn't want to pay to renovate the building after conservation status.
Guess they made the right decision.
