SINGAPORE: A 26-year-old man was found dead outside a unit on the sixth floor at Block 279 Yishun Street 22 on Saturday (Jul 9).

A 20-year-old male suspect was arrested in connection to the case, said the police.

The police were first alerted at 7.57pm requesting for assistance, and paramedics pronounced the man dead at 8.29pm. Police investigations are ongoing.

Channel NewsAsia understands that both men had been involved in a prior dispute, and that no weapon was used in the incident.

According to Mr Diin, 42, who lives on the fifth floor, he heard a "loud bang" at 7.45pm, but added that he did not know what happened exactly.

"I heard a very loud thumping sound. It's like something dropped onto the floor. It's a very loud sound. I thought my neighbour was moving something," Mr Diin recounted.

Earlier the same day, the body of a 52-year-old man was found at Geylang Lorong 23. Police said they were investigating the "unnatural death".

Singapore is no longer a safe haven under the team of nrew PAP led by sissified PM. The LKY, GKS's era is over. Brace for more stormy time under the new and clueless PAP team who cares about being paid obscene salary than running this country.

The deterioration started when foreigners rioted and burnt civilian cars but SPF Officers ran away and hid in an ambulance

If you are poor of course no one is going to try to rob you.

However for the rich it is a different matter. LKY went around with an army of bodyguards & you don't see LHL going around unprotected do you?

（联合早报网讯）义顺一带昨晚（9日）发生命案，遭警方逮捕的20岁华族嫌犯与26岁死者同属一个天主教会，死者自两年前开始不知何故不断骚扰嫌犯及家人。

嫌犯不愿具名的姐姐（22岁，行政人员）告诉记者，弟弟与死者虽属同个教会，但几乎很少和死者说过话。她透露，死者自两年前开始无缘无故跟踪弟弟，除了常敲打他们的家门骚扰他们一家，还曾经非礼过他们的母亲。

她形容，死者看起来像是混血儿，文静且行为古怪，他们曾尝试对死者好言相劝，但却无济于事。

她提到，这两年来已报警无数次。事发当天，死者不断大力敲打家里的门，母亲共报警五次但却没用，当时弟弟也在家中。

她是在接获母亲的电话后赶回家，并表示得知消息时感到震惊。她也提到，事发时母亲出门遛狗，并不在家中。

据本报了解，死者常在事发组屋出没并敲打居民的门，过去的星期二除了打伤住在六楼的75岁老妇导致她的左额骨裂外，也曾在上个月用双手掐着七楼妇女的脖子。

这起命案相信是发生在昨晚7时许，地点是义顺22街第279座组屋六楼走廊的楼梯前，死者被发现双手双脚捆绑，面部朝下倒卧在血泊中。救护人员抵达后当场宣告26岁男子不治。

黑车于凌晨约1时30分左右抵达现场将遗体搬离，警方随后解封现场。

据本报了解，20岁的华族嫌犯目前无业。警方目前正在调查这起案件。

Man found dead at Yishun St 22: Deceased allegedly "stalked" 20-year-old suspect for 2 years

A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a 26-year-old man was found dead at Block 279 Yishun Street 22 last night (July 9).

Stomp reported live from the location as police investigated the scene.

According to The Straits Times, both the deceased and the suspect lived on the sixth floor of the block.

The suspect's sister told the paper that the two men knew each other and that her brother had been "stalked" by the deceased over the last two years.

She said:

"I don't know why he started doing this. He would bang loudly on the door and ask for my brother, and my brother would tell him to go away."

The woman moved out of the Yishun flat but returned yesterday to visit her mother.

The suspect's mother only discovered that he had been arrested when she came back from walking her dogs in the evening.

No weapon is believed to be involved.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The standard of reporting the news is damn poor these days...you make no, 'heads or tails' out of it?

In other news report it says that the victim " Mr Rodrigues lived a few bus stops away from the suspect. but here in this report it says , "According to The Straits Times, both the deceased and the suspect lived on the sixth floor of the block"

Both the report from the same newspaper company....SPH....

We are talking about Singapore Standard...not switzerland etc...

that swiss standard of living is the biggest joke of all time(otehr than wks mas selamat "in singapore or out of it " crap statemnet). comparing to london, new york, HK or tokyo makes me cringe. a more realistic comparison is JB. hahahah

Spore has always been ruled by an iron hand. In the case of LHL, just look at what happened to a minor who aired his views on the death of a dictator.

The problem is that the laws are applied differently depending on who you are. At least in the past LKY tried to wayang a bit. Under LHL it is obvious that it is the "lesser mortals" vs elites & foreigners.
