The smart ones will use Singapore for convenience but will build a life for their families outside of Singapore. They will enjoy the benefits where they can find it. Many have learnt to make options work of them.

I think it is more of a false dilemma for the well heeled in Singapore rather than Hobson's choice.

Yes and no. The well heeled will not reveal their intentions. Many of them have kids who are already PR and they have acquired second homes overseas. It also the silly govt that made it so hard to get admission to local universities despite having good grades and now in foreign universities they have tasted freedom and a more advanced lifestyle.

Its no surprise that to some extent they have to bring in foreigners because some of younger talents are working and living overseas.
