Chitchat Talented IT Expert From India Offered S$8000 Per Month To Work In Singapore!

A recent post in a popular forum has gotten netizens riled up over the obvious difference in pay between similarly qualified locals and foreigners.

According to a forum post by a foreign Indian FT, who says he currently holds a bachelor's degree in IT and has 5.5 years of working experience as a Network Consultant in India, he was offered a job paying him $8000 SGD per month in Singapore by his current MNC employer.

However, as he felt that Singapore is much more expensive than in India, he says he has his doubts over whether he wants to relocate his family here. He lists a few of his lifestyle expenses, which included eating out, hiring house helpers/maids, pet food and vet bills, shopping, entertainment, car fuel and weekend getaways.

Local netizens who read the post are questioning why an MNC is willing to pay an exorbitant salary for a worker who has the same qualifications and experience as the many IT professionals in Singapore, who would have been hired at half the cost of this Indian FT.

Sinkies deserved it as they don't care to help each other as long as they themselves not affected. While these FT help each other by hiring their own kind.

sgd8k is too little. ah neh fresh import at my data center on h1b is making usd10k a month. once he gets his pr 6 years down the road he can double that. at sgd8k, sg is getting the scums and scraps.
