This is hilarious. First they did not know how to explain the policy. Then they made claims that others have done it but could not provide an example of a single country that did it. Now this. Obviously nobody told MHA that they have to get standalone PCs that is not connected to the Civil Service Servers to handle public interactions of this nature.

Go to the link below to see silly image of reply to the member of public reporting it. Honestly what a fucked PM. And he was the first to road-test it. How about explaining to the Civil Service what you want to achieve so they are not lost.

Traffic Police’s reply shows how ‘no internet for public officers’ policy may affect general public
By The Independent - June 26, 2016 13 826

Facebook group Roads.sg shared the picture of a message from the Traffic Police to an unidentified person, telling him that they are not able to access the internet to view the footage of an incident. They asked the person to transfer the video footage of the incident into a VCD, and send it to their headquarters.
1Roads.sg captioned the picture:

“Apparently one user tried submitting a video online to Traffic Police and got this reply. Government disconnecting themselves from the internet will bring the whole reporting system back to 10 years ago. Where we need to save any electronic data into flash drives or burn a VCD then drive down and physically hand it over.

Oh no, this cannot be real. #BangHeadOnWall”

The Singapore Government confirmed that the work computers of public officers will have no access to the Internet to guard against cyber-attacks over the internet and to create a “more secure working environment”. The ‘no internet’ policy is already enforced in some public offices, and will be fully enforced in all Government agencies from June 2017 onwards.

This not call fallout. It is great success. Traffic in incidents will decline following the No-Internet policy.

It would be a great idea to disconnect Changi Airport from all air routes too. It'll cut the terrorism risk by 90%

Sounds to me like the Police are just as pissed off with the new regime as we are amused. I can just imagine their frustration. To the extent they are probably saying "well, the so be it, if I can't even google for information, less work for me".

I am still wondering if this is a hoax. We have the highest per capita of scholars educated in the best Universities in the World that are in the Civil Service compared to any other country. Surely this could not have missed every check. Does anyone still have a working CD writer. MHA comes under Shanmugam and Teo Chee Hean, very senior folks.

Teo sleeps on the job all the time. Shanmu is always attacking opposition instead of focusing on his portfolio.

Under LKY, SG was in for maximum connectivity with the world.

Under the useless LHL, we are in for maximum disconnectivity. And Yaacob said that foreign ambassadors applaud him. Is Yaacob so dumb that he cant sense their taunt abt pap's silly decision?

Before they cut off internet access, civil service agencies should have put in place their upload portals where only specific file formats like mp4, docx, jpeg etc can be accepted. This shows how ill-planned the whole thing is

They can take away internet access from all the coms why dont they at least leave a dedicated server to handle all the requests and uploads.or a computer with inet access with restricted access only for restricted personnel.like the stupid saf where all the computers only have intranet access, theres only one terminal if u want inet access.

Well then I suppose the SAF much touted improvement in Command And Control with enhanced Battlefield Internet system with their 4G army is KAPUT. Back to pre-internet era. How come the SAF so quiet over this?http://www.mindef.gov.sg/imindef/re...news/2016/mar/04mar16_news2.html#.V2-h9ZBXeK0
