Re: Brexit - Britain exit from the EU - What does it mean?

1) 52% leave EU vote is just a simple majority (possibly a freak result) in a referendum. Shouldn't a 2/3 or 66.6% vote be a requirement for the decision to be binding?2) Democracy generally sucks because the average "BOGAN" (Ah Beng) voter is basically an IDIOT; along the same IQ level as those british football fan hooligans.3) Fascism is better because the elite aristocrat/intelligentsia who decides what is best for the idiot peasants whose only duty is to be automatons and die off when they are no longer useful without burdening the state too much.

Well said, I've added to your points!

I hope Brexit will prevent Great Britain from being islamicized. France and Germany are gone case unless the EU disintegrates. Great Britain will probably have barbarians as their neighbors.

personally, my 401k is affected with stocks taking a beating. can't cash out yet for a few more years. outside of 401k, liquidated all stock holdings before today's crash and sitting pretty with cash as reserve. more money will stream into the u.s. from international investors as they need to move their capital somewhere to "escape" from more bloodbath in europe. they certainly will not park in the u.s. stock market for now but will invest them in other ways. seeing a massive influx of overseas capital as i post this. for the astute and wealthy this is a good time to invest in the u.s. it will remain a safe haven until the new potus cum into power, and nobody knows what will happen next. anyway, during a term-limit election cycle, markets will sell due to uncertainty and keep their powder dry. i'm doing exactly that with a cash hoard. don't be silly and jump back in when market stabilizes momentarily. it will not until 6 months into the new regime.

Why did Britain join EU in the first place? http://voxeu.org/article/britain-s-eu-membership-new-insight-economic-history

How much the world had changed since the 1970's?.....China was still communist, for a starter, in 1976....BOC Singapore was 'threatened' to be closed....we cannot take clothing or products that has the "Made In China" label, when visiting the other China ( PRC) & they were still communists that are still feared to caused a breakdown of nations in SEA....

The world had changed tremendously , especially in the last 5 years....politically & economically...we have to relook our views..

EU chiefs want to be rid of Britain as soon as possible, if a statement from the European Council released in the wake of the UK’s shock Brexit is anything to go by.

It was released following a meeting of dignitaries including EU president Donald Tusk, parliamentary president Martin Schulz, Dutch PM Mark Rutte and European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker.

The EU’s top dogs told the UK to get out of the 28-member union quickly. They delivered a stark warning that until such a time as the political divorce goes through, Britain will be subject to all the treaties and agreements that go with membership.

“We now expect the United Kingdom government to give effect to this decision of the British people as soon as possible, however painful that process may be.”

They said “any delay” would “unnecessarily prolong uncertainty.”

“We have rules to deal with this in an orderly way. Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union sets out the procedure to be followed if a Member State decides to leave the European Union.”

David Cameron resigned at 8am on Friday, saying the process of an actual legal exit would fall to his successor, who would be appointed by autumn.

However, Boris Johnson – a Leave advocate currently favorite to be the next Tory PM – said there was no rush to leave, a point picked up by former Swedish PM Carl Bildt on Twitter.
Clause 50?

Clause 50 is a part of the EU’s Lisbon Treaty, which covers the potential exit of a member. However, the rule is untested, with Britain being the first member to attempt to leave.

Triggering the clause puts into motion a two-year process during which time an exit will be negotiated.

The process is by no means guaranteed to be smooth, or even happen at all. Each national parliament of the remaining 27 EU states will debate the issue and each has a veto. An exit is also at the mercy of a further national ratification process by each state.

Despite the urgent tone of the EU chief’s statement, a further renegotiation of trade could take upwards of five years, as substantial negotiating teams on each side thrash out the whole process.

The UK does have an option to withdraw unilaterally, but this may prejudice any favorable trade settlement the country tried to reach with former EU partners.

UK can bring back their Palmerston gunboat boat diplomacy to blast the europe and start drug trafficking in EU, like their did before in China.

Later ceded Germany Frankfurt and colonize it.

All countries with big Chinese population must prepare for British Empire Palmerston gunboat diplomacy to force legal open trade for the British monopoly in opium.

Will India welcome British to grow opium in Calcutta this time?

Re: what is the real impact for Brexit?

if that is how you see British, then time for China to start colonize British. London will ceded to China for 150 years and China will grow opium, this time, and British can use their ' Tea Clippers' boats and start their Jesus money drug trafficking opium in Europe.

This will show what British Empire was made of in 1800s used Palmerston gunboat diplomacy to force Europe to open up to drug trade.

Lets see the vicious cycle again.
