Ang Hin Kee of the labour movement had the same question. In Parliament yesterday, he asked the transport minister about these drivers and their welfare.

So it turns out that 2.5% (or 1374) of active taxi drivers are female.

I have encountered a few of them but these faces dont seem familiar. The few I spoke with were mostly single parent with 2 or 3 kids.

This MP is a disgrace. Career wise no direction and jumps from one sector to another. Since becoming an MP he was given a job in NTUC and supposed to look after Taxi driver under the Taxi Drivers Association since 2012. He is now asking how many female taxi drivers.

His official CV has been missing since 2015.
