More and more pioneer generation sinkies getting killed off by disease ridden FTs. Fucking Dengue, for example was pretty much eradicated in the 80s and now its come back thanks to the 3rd world conditions brought in by 3rd world FTs from India, China, etc. Fucking PAP. Whybother spending $14 billion in defence when our citizens are getting well and truly killed off by biological means caused by these 3rd world FTs?

SINGAPORE: A 79-year-old man has died of dengue, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) in a statement on Sunday (May 29).

The patient was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital on Friday. His condition deteriorated and he died on Sunday. MOH and NEA said the man lived at Jalan Tenaga, an area "located within an active six-case dengue cluster".

The agencies added that vector control operations have been ongoing in the area since the notification of the cluster on May 12, and that NEA has conducted multiple rounds of inspections in homes and outdoor areas, including common areas in the estate. The agencies urged residents to cooperate fully and allow NEA officers to inspect their premises for mosquito breeding.

SINGAPORE: A 63-year-old Singaporean woman died from dengue on Thursday (Mar 10), the National Environment Agency (NEA) and Ministry of Health (MOH) announced in a joint press release on Friday.

She was admitted to Changi General Hospital on Wednesday and her condition deteriorated, the agencies said.

The victim had lived at Bedok North Street 3, which is not an active dengue cluster. Nonetheless, vector control operations to kill adult mosquitoes and destroy any potential breeding habitats are ongoing, NEA and MOH said.

"Residents are urged to cooperate fully and allow NEA officers to inspect their premises for mosquito breeding and to spray insecticide to kill any infective mosquitoes," they added.

This is the third reported dengue death in Singapore this year. Last month, a 67-year-old Toa Payoh Lorong 4 resident also died from the virus.

The number of dengue cases in 2016 may exceed 30,000, higher than the record in 2013 when 22,170 cases were reported. “We urge all members of the public and stakeholders to stay vigilant and continue to work as a community to prevent dengue cases from rising,” NEA and MOH reiterated.

This is the second reported dengue death for Singapore this year. Last month, a 47-year-old Marsiling Rise resident died from the virus as well.

NEA has said it has seen an increase in the Aedes mosquito population due to warmed conditions caused by the 2015 El Nino phenomenon. "In view of the warmer than usual weather persisting, the number of dengue cases in 2016 is expected to be high, with cases spiking earlier than in previous years. There is an urgent need to keep the mosquito population under control," NEA and MOH reiterated.

SINGAPROE: A 47-year-old man has died of dengue at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH), said the Ministry of Health (MOH) and National Environment Agency (NEA) in a joint news release on Sunday (Jan 24).

The man is the first person in Singapore to have died from dengue this year. The local death toll in 2015 was four.

The Singaporean stayed at Marsiling Rise, and he was admitted to KTPH on Thursday. His condition deteriorated and he died on Friday, authorities added.

They also said that the patient had been staying in an area that was within an active 10-case dengue cluster.

"NEA has been inspecting the premises in the area, and detected and destroyed six counts of mosquito breeding thus far, of which five were found in residential premises and one in common areas," the media release stated.

It added that vector control operations to kill adult mosquitoes and destroy potential breeding habitats have been ongoing since the notification of the cluster on Jan 5.

Dengue haemorrhagic fever was first recorded in Singapore in the 1960s as a major cause of childhood death. In 1966 a public health response was initiated with the establishment of the Vector Control Unit. To combat the spread of the disease in 1968 a vector control system of surveillance and larval source reduction was implemented. Accompanying this policy was a strict programme of public education and law enforcement to discourage the intentional or unintentional propagation of mosquitoes. After the completion of this vector control programme in 1973 Singapore experienced fifteen years of low dengue incidence.
However, despite a well enforced vector control programme, the incidence of dengue fever has surged since the 1990s.

Major outbreaks occurred peaking in 2005 when the incidence of dengue rose from 9.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 1988 to 312.2 cases per 100,000. A total of 13,986 cases were recorded with 19 deaths and hospitals experienced a shortage of beds and medicines. All four serotypes have now been recorded as endemic in Singapore. One possible explanation for this increase in infection rates is that the lack of major dengue epidemics in the 1970s and 1980s resulted in a reduced herd immunity to some of the serotypes of the virus. Low levels of herd immunity provide ideal conditions for dengue transmission once other serotypes of the disease were introduced from outside Singapore.

no elite NEA anti Dengue swat team swarm jalan tenaga since may 12?

on the other hand,no news on fine being dished out to landed home owners...

"Some 160 NEA officers, contractors and volunteers were out in full force over the weekend, fogging the Watten Estate area, inspecting homes and public areas, and distributing fliers about anti-mosquito measures.
The NEA said on Monday that around 700 premises had been inspected, and 40 mosquito breeding sites detected and destroyed."
