POLICE are investigating a two-car collision near Laharum on Tuesday that injured overseas tourists.

A Victoria Police media spokeswoman said people from Singapore were in a car travelling west on the Wonwondah-Dadswell Bridge Road when it collided with a car travelling north on Northern Grampians Road about 4.20pm.

“The first car contained five people, all Singapore nationals,” she said.

“Three female rear passengers, all aged 23, were injured in the collision.

“The male driver, 24, and another female passenger, 23, suffered minor injuries.

“The driver of the second vehicle, a 24-year-old Horsham woman, was uninjured.”

Ambulance Victoria spokesman Paul Bentley said one of the women in the first car had head, chest and spinal injuries.

“She was given a blood transfusion while being flown by air ambulance to The Alfred hospital in Melbourne in a critical condition,” he said.

“Another woman has head and leg injuries. She was flown by air ambulance to Melbourne, and transported via road to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.

“The third woman had neck and back injuries and was taken to Wimmera Base Hospital in Horsham in a stable condition.”

The cause of the crash is unknown.

The spokeswoman urged anyone who witnessed the incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 FREE.

From a description of the injuries it would appear that those in the rear seat were not belted up.

I can't believe these cases still continue in both Australia and NZ. They seem to okay when going to Malaysia but not in these 2 countries. I wonder what exactly is the problem.

Using handphone while driving? a habit that's almost legal given the lack of deterrence in the form of enforcement. In our congested roads why the need to use big bikes by the Traffic Police? Go to youtube to see how the British do it.

Most sinkies are used to urban driving and do not have the experience of driving on wide open roads with no lamp posts or kerb markings, hence the tendency to drive fast and not realise it. Nothing swooshing by the driver to indicate how fast he is going. 120km/h can appear like 80km/h.

it is the same situation as when sinkies venture abroad, they can't survive without pap as nanny guardian.

Are these real Sporean or new Sporeans:confused:
This is a relevant question because you have foreign minors without licenses causing carnage on Spore roads.

Even if the driver has a licence, the driver is only 24 & if you take into account NS & high cost of owning a car here, I doubt he has much experience driving.

Not a requirement in singapore, hence arrogant sinkies don't think it applies in aussieland.

useless arrogant sinkies as usual can go and kill themselves. unlike recent case where they killed an innocent NZ motorcyclist. Happens every month in aust, NZ, malaysia etc. damn bastards. how come ginfreely never come and says it was the aussies roads at fault here. well known in australia that the car rentals like Hertz have put a out a black list warnings that sinkie drivers are crap drivers .Hahhahahahhah

get real and don't be so biased. you see such crap driving EVERYDAY in sinkieland even amongst old drivers. sinkie drivers are the worst in the world. selfish conceited arrogant thinks the whole road belongs to them. cahnge lane without signalling, speed when not supposed to and road hog on expressways even in BKE etc. no wonder every month you hear such idiots dying and killing themselves here and in overseas. How many sinkies drivers at any one time in australia? very few and yet they seem to be getting into trouble every month. Last 3 months already got 3 cases and worse one of these stupid sinkie killed an innocent NZ motorcyclist.

You may think that old drivers drive like crap however the data proves otherwise, that older drivers are less likely to be involved in accidents
That is why in Canada young male drivers have to pay a higher car insurance premium than older drivers.

I'm in Gold Coast now and since I got here a few days ago, driving here has been a breeze as long as I've GPS.

I think it's their laidback culture that Aussies are patient drivers, they drive within speed limit and they don't tailgate and don't horn. Their roads are less crowded than Sinkieland and there's not much traffic jams. The speed limit in their motorway is 110km/h, faster than Sinkieland expressways.

I like the Aussies laidback culture, it's not crowded here, there's no rush and no stress, the people here look much happier than Sinkies.

I've driven in Canada, the US, and Spore. The worst is Spore & it's no fun to drive in Spore with impatient drivers who tail gate, cut you off, never signal their intention to change lanes, flash their light at you,...

Having a car is convenient but I gave up driving because of the cost & stress of driving in Spore.

I not sure if you guys actually travelled wide enough to make a proper assessment. Go into the heart of Sydney, New York and its nightmare. You can see trucks going all out. You can see Taxi cut across 3 lanes to drop a passenger. Don't even step on the pedestrian crossing as these trucks come real closer. Try London M25 ring road or try to find a petrol station in inner London. Singapore is very much urban and the cars are everywhere.

I do however agree that Singapore drivers tend to bring their bad habits when the go overseas especially if they are relatively new.

Try driving south of Perth or Queensland. Everyone has time to be courteous, have the patience to wait etc. What else is there to do. I know Singaporeans who are brave to hire cars in Perth and Queensland but dead scared to drive in Sydney CBD.

Ask a Singaporean to drive on Germany's Autobahn which has no speed limits for some classes of vehicles and they will not do it.

at least the roads overseas are wider, and there are fewer bends than in sinkieland. most accidents as far as i remember occur along PIE. in china, it is all straight road and no slope. at least they never drive like prc drivers in sinkieland.
