This led to Facebook pages like Fabrications About The PAP (FAP) and Falsehoods Led by Opposition Parties (FLOP) to say SDP’s Chee Soon Juan “lies” and suggested that Chee had used the photograph of him and Chiam to “fake the impression that Mr Chiam has patched up and endorse him (Chee).
The Facebook posts are below:

Can't see why CSJ needed the "endorsement" of CST.

If CSJ is desperate for endorsement, he should get it from LTK or SL, who are winners.

CST is only good for a small subset of the country - Potong Pasir, beyond that CST has no influence.

My fellow citizens, Mr. Chiam and I understand that the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) has been circulating an image of Mr. Chiam See Tong and Dr. Chee Soon Juan in SDP’s newsletter, The New Democrat.

We would like to clarify that Dr. Chee did not seek nor receive permission to include Mr. Chiam’s image in this newsletter. Mr. Chiam has not given his endorsement to any candidate for the upcoming Bukit Batok by-election.

Mr. and Mrs. Chiam See Tong

Mr Chiam has been successful in Potong Pasir, but now is history, may be going to meet his maker, Lina Chiam cannot win Potong Pasir, they are non-factor in the success of SDP or CSJ.

SPP may even wrapped up in the near future, if CST passed on to Lina Chiam, Lina Chiam passed on to her children, no wonder Benjamin cabut.

DPM Tharman calls SDP out for playing ‘politics of fear and alarm’
http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/dpm-tharman-calls-sdp-out/2760384.html
SINGAPORE: Troubled by the arguments he has heard in recent days, on issues ranging from elderly suicides to Government reserves, Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam has called out the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) and its chief for “willfully spreading fear and alarm

Wouldn't be surprised if CSJ lose. The examples given by Tharman in the video can persuade the voters why SDP is not ready to enter the parliament with their misrepresentation :(

Unfortunate that SDP misses another chance to enter parliament.

The Hard Truths for SDP and Dr Chee Soon Juan:

:( 4th consecutive loss by Dr Chee Soon Juan

:( Misrepresentation of data hurts Dr Chee and the SDP

:( SDP Policy Papers does not help

:( Voters don't really care about Dr Chee's cause or his commitment to serve

:( Dr Chee Soon Juan has a track record of being an unelectable candidate

Consequences of Dr Chee Soon Juan's insistence he should continue to contest in byelections:

:( Paul Tambyah, a rising star of the SDP will not be able to contest

:( Other outstanding SDP members, if any, are deprived the opportunity to contest

:( SDP will fall into a deeper hole, gaining a reputation of not being able to win elections

:( Dr Chee will continue on a losing streak due to his unelectable reputation

Options for Dr Chee Soon Juan:

:o Continue to lead the party but refrain from depriving other capable SDP members from contesting, particularly in byelections

:o Continue to contest in elections, deprive other capable SDP members from contesting in byelections and continue to grow his unelectable reputation

Asst Prof Woo noted that because of Dr Chee’s age, his electoral life cycle is “running out”.

More broadly, the SDP, he noted, has not been very successful in leadership renewal compared with the Workers’ Party (WP), which raises “serious questions” over the SDP’s viability going forward.

Noting that SDP has not renewed its ranks with “credible, younger generations of potential candidates”, Asst Prof Woo said: “Unlike the WP, it doesn’t have people in their 40s, the likes of Daniel Goh, Leon Perera, Gerald Giam. (The SDP) doesn’t seem to have that generation prepared, waiting in the wings to take over.”

Listen to the professor. SDP has only Dr Chee and Paul Tambyah. After them, SDP can close shop.

Chiam See Tong even worse. With him already history, SPP will die a natural death in one more election cycle.

For SDP to continue, Dr Chee must attract the younger generation and let the younger generation take charge.

By taking charge, it means letting others contest in elections instead of himself in future.

But it is clear that Dr Chee's political past and the character issue will not fade, and is something that he will have to contend with in future elections that he contests. The PAP has shown that it will continue to question his suitability for elected office based on his past actions and brushes with the law.

That's true. Dr Chee's political past and character issue will never go away and with that Dr Chee can never get elected.

Even though the SDP labelled these as personal attacks and "character assassinations", last night's result suggests that the character issue continues to have some traction with voters.

Say what you want, SDP and SDP supporters, you can paint Dr Chee as an angel and hero but ultimately it is the voters' vote that count.

And he certainly did not help his own cause by misinterpreting government data - such as on jobs for locals - and presenting a skewed picture of employment at his rallies. The episode may have given discerning voters cause to pause and consider that, perhaps, there is some truth in the PAP's position that voters should not trust him.

This is one major reason why people change their mind about voting for SDP. It is better to focus on verifiable facts than misrepresenting data. When SDP did not challenge PAP's allegation that SDP misrepresented data, SDP confirmed they are guilty of misrepresenting data.

Although Dr Chee has fallen short at the ballot box once again, the result is unlikely to affect his position as the SDP's undisputed leader.

That is also true. There is no one else, high profile enough, other than Paul Tambyah. Dr Chee will continue to lead the SDP.

PPP head Goh Meng Seng says Chee should go
http://theindependent.sg/ppp-head-goh-meng-seng-says-chee-should-go/

We have to come to terms that Chee isn’t going to go anywhere further than the current result due to many reasons and factors. Whether we like it or not, the Chiam baggage will always be on his shoulder if he didn’t want to clear it off with sincerity.

He has given his best under the best circumstances any past and contemporary opposition politicians could dream of but yet, unable to cross that 40% barrier. No matter how we look at it objectively and rationality, it could only mean one thing, whether we like it or not, he has been tainted beyond hope. He is just unelectable.

This is this cruel but honest view I have with regard to Chee. As I have said, SDP has a fantastic support team behind but as long as Chee is leading SDP, all their effort may just come to nothing.

I guess for the sake of Chee’s family, it is time for him to take a back seat and allow others to take SDP to greater heights. 5 years is a lot of time for a human being, 20 years of his prime has been spent in this opposition fight. It would be too cruel to ask him to continue to fight a destined lost war without much concerns of the sacrifices made by his family members.

Goh Meng Seng's assessment of the state of the SDP and Dr Chee is realistic. SDP will not prosper if this is to continue with Dr Chee insisting he should be contesting elections as it has been proven that Dr Chee is unelectable.

Dr Chee's insistence he should contest in elections is:

:( Giving false hope to Singaporeans and the opposition

:( Denying other talented and deserving SDP members from contesting

:( Dr Chee's loss is proof that he does not have the capability to win elections. An inexperienced, "small time" WP member like Lee Li Lian can win a by-election on a her second attempt. Dr Chee is an experienced politician and leader of a political party and he cannot win a by-election on his 5th attempt.

:( Dr Chee no longer has bargaining power in the next general election. WP, SPP, SDA, RP, DPP all will laugh at Dr Chee when he try to negotiate seats. They tell Dr Chee straight in the face, you had your chance, you cannot even win in a one-to-one contest in a by-election, what makes you think the SDP can win this time from the PAP?
