Last December, Bank of Canada governor Stephen Poloz gave a talk at the Empire Club of Canada in which he discussed four so-called unconventional monetary policies to desperately help stimulate the Canadian economy.

Don't need already lah as the Canadian government is planning deficit to stimulate the economy.

Monetary policy can't address the problem of slack demand. Business is not interested in borrowing when there is weak or no demand for their products or services.

Justin Trudeau and the Liberal government did mentioned that the they planned to have a budget deficit for the next 3 years. So we shall see whether the economic stimulus will work.

It will not be sufficient to bring back normal growth but will mitigate the downturn impact.
