At the 2010 Zhuhai Airshow, Comac announced orders for 55 C919 aircraft from six airlines, with an additional 45 options. The purchasing airlines or lessors included China Eastern Airlines, Air China, Hainan Airlines, China Southern Airlines, CDB Leasing Company, and GE Capital Aviation Services.[30]

On 20 October 2011, Chinese leasing company ICBC Leasing announced an order for 45 C919s, as well as an agreement to be the launch customer for the aircraft.[31] On November 11, 2014, Comac announced at the 2014 Zhuhai Airshow that China Merchants Bank's aircraft leasing division made a firm commitment for 30 C919s, and that total orders were now up to 450 aircraft.[32]

Production of the first C919 testing prototype began on December 9, 2011.[33] The flight testbed was expected to enter final assembly in 2014, and perform its first flight sometime in 2015.[34] However, as of the 2014 Zhuhai Airshow, the first flight has been delayed to 2015, with the first delivery delayed to 2018.[35]

At the 2015 Paris Air Show, Ping An Leasing signed a letter of intent for 50 C919s.[36] This deals makes the Shanghai-based Chinese lessor one of Comac's largest customers. In addition to Ping An Leasing, Puren Group also signed a letters of intent for seven C919s and seven ARJ21s, intended for the start-up Puren Airlines.[37] Also during that time Nepal Airlines and Air India was interested in acquiring 2-3 to replace older aircraft.

Frankly I trust Chinese Russian planes better than Ang Moh's for durable reliable and withstanding rough conditions of survival.

Ang Moh's can not survive rough hard climate storms extremely temperature etc. Ang Moh culture very idealistic. Chinese and Russian very realistic.

I would like to see China manufacture a motorcycle and compete with the other brands in the world. It can be in any category, any engine size, as long as it is competitive.

This is more of a utility motorcycle. I was referring to a competitive type model where it competes with other makes. PRC has a sportier bike they call the CFMoto 650, patterned after a Kawasaki 600 sportbike that looks good, but is somewhat heavyweight, all steel, no carbon-fibre or lightweight alloy. Although it looks good and makes good horsepower, I doubt if is can run against similiar engines bikes from the Japanese, Italians, or even the British in GP roadracing. I am not biased against PRC, but podium finishes in GP races (or dirt track, drag-racing) will raise its standings in terms of engineering achievement. Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki all have noticeable race track achievements, and Japanese machinery have even won F1 motorcar races, we are watching for China to reach this level too.

Not all. Some Chinese airlines would have ordered the Bombardier CS series or the Embraer E-190. They are compatible and even more efficient then the smaller models of Boeing 737 and Airbus 320 family.

These orders for the Comac planes mean nothing. The plane has to perform as per the manufacturer's specs. It will not be confirmed until the first batch of deliveries have been in use for a while by the airlines, Then they will know whether the range, fuel consumption, and cost per seat calculations are confirmed. If it turns out the plane is more expensive to operate, the airlines will change back to Airbus and Boeing and cancel their orders.

Yup,using foreign-made jet engines and avionics.
Until they can make their own engine and avionics, its just mainly an assembly job.

There is a technical considerations as well as market factors.

It uses LEAP-X engine whilst the locally develop CY1000 is still work in progress and should be ready by 2020. Having said so, they will likely use it on the military version of C919, to gain the reliability data on military plane before introducing it to domestic routes follow by international markets. Certain datas like reliability info can't be fully tested in the lab and need to be gained from operation.

As for marketing, it will likely gain consumers and airline acceptance by using foreign made engines first till passengers gain confidence in the reliability of chinese made engines. And this can only be done through a long period of operation in military and domestic flights.
