The left engine cover of a Tigerair plane fell off in the air slightly an hour after take-off during its flight to Chennai, India. Flight TR2638 had to returned to Changi Airport after the metal cover piece fell off the plane exposing the interior of the engine. The plane left Changi Airport at 8.46pm yesterday (Oct 16) and returned to the same airport on 11.20pm. It is unknown if the metal piece have fallen into sea or have been retrieved.

Tigerair is a budget airline and subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA). This is the second accident for Singapore’s airline industry when a SIA plane collapse after a support gave way last Sunday (Oct 11).
